Ryan air has the highest PLF out of all the airlines at slightly more than 94% and is issuing profit warnings. Emirates PLF is around 73% and made about £800 million in 2018 I am using these two airlines as an example of Pricing Versus PLF.
Thomas Cook PLF 82% 2018 is not really in competition with the other low cost airlines as I believe that people think of TCG as a holiday package firm as opposed to a Ryan air type airline. I have no idea how to improve the situation but I hope that the board do have constructive ideas. Looking forward to the May results.
Big D. https://www.statista.com/statistics/309385/thomas-cooks-uk-passenger-numbers/ .
However it is not so much whether a flight is full or not, it is how much the ticket cost. In these days of cut throat competition, even That awful Irish airline who's flights are jam packed. they are issuing profit warnings.
And there Jonesy is the 5P question!!
What exactly looks encouraging This will drop today. .
Don't forget Zero Green (as somebody mentioned about 1000 posts ago)
"Harrods of the High Street" Blimey, his shops look like pound shop of the high st these days.
Long after this Debs saga is over we will all be going on about it on every other page that we inhabit and there are far more here than there were there. It will be the Debs effect as opposed to that airline effect!!
I have a feeling that some investors think it really has been sold after that mis dated article.
A couple of days till April fools day!!
Pearls.You are either very rich,
Know something we don't
Or completely out to lunch
(Or all three)
I have taken the mick out of some of your walls of money posts but you have always stuck to your belief that MA will make a formal bid. I admire your tenacity.
I wish you well.
As Flybe has been mentioned and we don't have our own BB any more.
I also recognise a lot of names on here from that farcical mess.
Just received my penny a share from Flybe so going to get one and three quarter pints of Beer with it!
I do hope that things work out better for you all here.
TOWI. Set your backstop and high sell price and go and do whatever ts is you do on a sunny day.
“Sports Direct believes that any Possible Offer would be compelling for Debenhams shareholders as:
· It would allow Debenhams shareholders who wish to realise their shareholdings the opportunity to do so”,.
Heres a conspiracy theory.(reading between the lines) Is all this a clever ploy by MA to allow share holders to get at least something back at a small raised price, never intending to actually make a bid at all?? Stranger things have probably happened.
Love You. Also, not forgetting people that want to use a travel agent can wonder into another one often in the same town and book with another operator.
Instead of concentrating on these cuts which may be counter-intuitive. they should concentrate on getting customers and stopping the constant decline.
On another topic. The weather may be a factor but not a massive one business, blaming it is a sad excuse. People book holidays well in advance so how would they know what the weather will do.
That was cut and pasted from The Greek Law Digest. This is the UK.
Because they will lose their jobs if they take his money. ( no longer a holder, just popped by to see what occurred today)
I wonder if perhaps the share price will remain on it;s present pattern of gain and larger fall until 16th of May. That would be my view. For the record I don't see the closing of shops as good news and not just because of the loss off jobs but obviously they can;t afford them anymore. Rather than close shops that are still used by older people and Luddites (like myself) They should concentrate on Filling the planes and hotels. The board have got lazy. The ski jump of the graph shows the possible decent into oblivion unless they make this great business attractive again. Saving money in this way is a negative.
Itsagame, That was a very different situation, The connect consortium had no shares in Flybe when they made the 1p offer. MA as you know has a large holding in Debs so different rules apply.
I am now an imposter here as I am no longer a holder, sold on Friday (big loss). However, I fervently hope that you all have an absolute field day tomorrow that MA does the business and the Champagne finally flows.
