Blue skies, blue horses* and great science greeted us in Denver, Colarado for this year’s American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP) conference – a key annual event for the MIDD and pharmacometrics community.
The event offered plenty of opportunities to hear about recent developments in the field. A few key highlights included:
👉 Emerging solutions using AI to support PKPD/PMx workflows, particularly in extracting knowledge from published manuscripts, with James Zou’s keynote introducing the concept of a ‘Virtual Lab’.
👉 A deep dive into Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) applications, from 12 years of QSP support in ADC oncology development. Along with excellent QSP case examples beyond oncology such as virology, rheumatoid arthritis and neurodegenerative disorders.
👉 Novel statistical approaches are helping turn RWD and digital health data from wearables (which can often be noisy) into powerful insights on treatment effects.
👉 Adaption of MIDD approaches for new drug modalities (e.g. for differences in drug elimination pathways) such as siRNA, ASO, peptides, protein degraders or CAR-T therapies.
👉 Increasing guidance and clarity around regulatory best practice in MIDD, with a focus on defining a model’s ‘context of use’ (COU) and using the Model Master File (MMF) to improve transparency and interdisciplinary communication.
At Physiomics plc we are exploring how #MIDD and #QSP modelling offers a translational bridge in this space – connecting drug dose, biomarker response and clinical outcomes.
🛫 Next up, our team will be at #BIOEurope in November, and you can also catch us at #PKUK in November – looking forward to continuing the conversation there!
