RE: russian demands dont sound much7 Mar 2022 22:03
Good Evening MH. There seems to be an apparent softening and shift in the Russian negotiating position. That's if anything they say is to be believed.
Its not going their way and they look like they are trying to save face with territory acquisition that they can claim as a a quick win.
Possible reasons why
*Putin has underestimated the Ukranian resistance
*Putin has underestimated the West's condemnation
*Putin underestimated the West's unity ad collective sanctioning.
* The West is sending copious quantities of arms, missiles, defence systems and aircraft now. this is arriving by the day.
* Russian economy is starting to feel the economic impact of sanctions.
* Putin's army has suffered some well publicised heavy losses in the last few days in terms of helicopters, aircraft, drones, tanks, military commanders and soldiers. Not getting things his own way.
*That supposed 40 mile column is simply making no progress
* Other cities which have supposedly been taken are being reclaimed
* Putin and others are facing trial for "war crimes"
Should be good for the share prices of Poly, Evraz, POG etc.
