RE: Shares have no value6 Sep 2024 12:16
Agree with BBN: cup is half full rather than half empty after today’s spillage, but with regard to SP impact I think this has been badly managed by IES. Larry has been the face of the company for several years. He didn’t wake up today and decide it was time to retire: CEOs plan succession long in advance. The effect on the SP is akin to a CEO sacking/vote of no confidence, which it probably was (sincere apologies in advance if there are other personal reasons)
So what? The books aren’t going to balance up as quick as we thought, but other than time frame, little has changed. The new product is still potentially world beating and is on track for introduction. We just need to slow the pace a little. Trading today demonstrates that the ‘market’ has confidence, and in my opinion the SP crash has much to do with poor management of market expectation.
