RE: wheat/corn12 Jul 2018 11:13
Threeputt, wheat, corn etc fall under soft commods along with cocoa, soyabeans, sugar, milk etc most of which Ive been doing s/bets on recently due to their falls though dont trade etfs..
The fall is attributable in simple terms to the trade wars and once again $ strength. ie Blame Trump!!
I dont agree that commods have had their recovery. Many have been knocked down sign'y in recent wks/months due to the current market climate and volatility.
Trade wars with China have seen soya beans etc knocked down in part'r. The strong $ is not helping other soft commods.
Even PMs such as gold and copper which is almost at 52 weeks lows are be hit by strong $.
Cooper, sugar, wheat, cocoa, coffee, wheat, corn have all been hit and affected by the strong $ and/or Trade Wars. That's essentially it.
Once trade/currency wars resolve and dollar weakens, soft commods shd begin to see a rebounding effect....imho
''#China National Grain & Oils Information Center:
Chinese importers cancelled a total of 615,000 tons #US #soybean orders in the 3 weeks as of Jun 28;
China's 25% extra tariff on US soybeans brings its price about 300 yuan/ton higher than soybeans from #Brazil.
