But what if the world goes into a prolonged recession or depression? Then prices will continue to be very low for much longer.

All companies have to work within the legal and regulatory framework of a country.

If the regulators say suspend dividends, then it's best to be compliant. It's just a business decision.

The dividend will come back later this year. Also tis better for a company to be solvent than bankrupt in these difficult times.
