Eog have just announced a farm out agreement, it will be interesting to see how their sp reacts. Whilst each company is different it will be good to see if they take off.

Farm out has just dropped, strange to announce it over the Christmas period, could offer a quick trade today.

No 100% I seem to miss them, I’m trying to broaden my knowledge on a few companies as my list was getting quite small so used this time to research some more.

HEX I was tempted to buy more expecting a dip today but its up 4%, this should go into production first couple of weeks. Could it make 20-30% news on that update? The worry is that its been the same sp for about 6 months now will it pull back when production happens? Ive seen this happen before

ALRT not my usual share but the SP has doubled in the last week and looks like an exciting company. They are due to announce a new CEO very soon and it could run on hype. Maybe is this the peak?

QHE I'm not keen on companies that rebrand as its never a good sign but they are due to flow test in January and a market cap of 12.5 million that could go up massively on news or hype. Again this has doubled in the last month so again is it too late?

HE1 again another that's almost doubled recently, its pulled back today but always likes a spike. They flow test in the next few weeks

Ill be honest it feels a really good time, its just hard to pick the winners of the bunch!

Veteran you are 100% correct, the market typically drops over this period so its usually a good time to buy into shares, whilst this isnt the bargain it has been say a month back buying over this period usually offers a good chance to buy.

I agree ADW they have answer a lot of questions when most seem to be the same few questions repeated.

One frustrating point is they wont be drilling until late again next year, I know they have the various approvals to go through but it sounds like it wont be until the summer at the earliest they can crack on with work.

I agree with you PI, I think the item will of been delivered as they wouldn't of left it in a van over the Christmas period but I doubt anyone will be onsite until the 5th so hopefully an update early 12th January.

Holidays or not, a 14.5% rise in any global commodity in such a short time is frankly, outrageous.

Dai that’s a very good question, I’ve thoight a lot about it.

I don’t know which is best as both have pros. I don’t add any extra to my sipp, for me it’s a case of if it does well I can retire early or have extra money to enjoy. The issue is I can get 25/% tax free before the rest is taxed. What if I can get my pension to say 2-4 million???? That’s alot of tax to pay to receive it.

my current employer asks me to put in 6% and they contribute 13% so a really good scheme so one I’ll make use of whilst I’m there.

The isa I like as it’s all taxed up front, I pay 20% tax but Every penny I put in is tax free so if it takes off and I have 2-4 million long term I’ll pay way less tax. I guess the calcs need to be done to decide how much I expect to have then see the tax implications.

I prefer saving in an isa as it’s flexible and if I need to money I can dip in but that’s also a bad thing. Since I have such a good pension scheme I’ll pay into it but any extra will just go into an ISA. I prefer the flexibility but when you get all that free cash you have to make the most of it.

My sipp pension at the end of dec 2024 was 2573 and as of today it’s currently sat at 4659 that’s an increase of 2086 which is about 75% increase over the last 12 months. It’s sitting about where I wanted it to be and hopefully in the new year hex will take off and give me a good start to 2026.

If I were to retire at 58 I have another 20 years of investing so returns of 75% would give me a very good retirement.

This year I’ve had no big losses which has been excellent and I’ve tried to split my investments across a few shares rather than going in. It’s meant that the 50% odd I made on Panr didn’t make as much money but it reduced the risk incase of a big down turn. I prefer going all in but splitting my money between a few shares has worked out better this year and selling out at 20% rather than going for big gains and missing the peak has worked.

I suspect the first half of next year will be slow as o haven’t got anything on my radar but I’m sure an oiler or helium company will pop up and hopefully make me some money lol
