There are many valuation models..this company’s valuation is currently based entirely on its underlying cash. I believe the organic business is worth at least 10p on a risk reward basis as i have posted before…that was also on the basis that i see the remaining patent portfolio as being worth something like £20m if the company fails to get any traction.

If they confirm orders that’s there is something more to work on but until knowing the forecast revenue , product and underlying customer you cannot extrapolate much more

3 my example of 12p a shares costs £39m ..no whatever the share price is i see the payment amount coming off the shares when they go ex. The share price will hopefully reflect the known prospect in the cum form so the cash adjustment should be penny for penny.

No i don’t i predict the shares will adjust by the ex amount simples…and i can only base the impact on the current known share price .if there were sales and earnings i could have a stab at a dcf valuation..but there aren’t any as yet ..so basing anything on a prospective share price is not something anyone can know so it is never used. Especially when there is no certainty of any order large or small just now.

If qd had said the shares will be 40p in MARCH 2024 in his opinion and they will adjust by 12p to 28p in MARCH 2024 when they go ex that amount …then that would make some sense ,,but we would have to establish whether their assumption of the share price more than doubling by then is realistic and likely?

I am not making a fool of myself at all as it goes i am demonstrating you are talking nonsense on your opinion of what the share price will be at a future date …with absolutely no way of knowing what it will be. People have posted ..that the shares at 18p would trade at 6p in the ex form ..i am saying they are correct ..you are saying they are wrong as the shares will not be 18p..that was not the point in the first place.the share will trade lower by close to the ex amount..that is for sure.

No i certainly do not need you to tell me how to value a stock..and i can tell you are not qualified to do so anyway.. but i also have no way to make an assumption of what the share price will be in March 2024 when they say they will return capital so all one can do is use the current price as an example of the impact of ex capital payment as it seems some were doing.

If a share price is 18p and goes ex 12p they generally adjust by the ex amount..Fact.

If you want to tell me what the share price will be in March 2024 then thats super but there is absolutely no way of you knowing unless you are mystic Meg . If they have a large contract should be a lot higher , small initial contract a fair bit higher as would be first commercial adoption for the company …if there are more delays and even no contract because of change in circumstance for the underlying customer who knows. You seem to say you do but you cannot know !

Either way there should be a lot more upside than downside if they deliver …IF.

Why would the shares not adjust for an ex capital repayment of 12p.

The shares have just under 20p of cash per share net on a pro forma basis ( and are burning increasing cash in operations) they trade at 18p.

If the company trading at 18p went ex a 12p cash distribution costing £39m there would be about £21-2m left in the bank representing 6.6p.

What do you think the shares would trade at ex payment?? Because it ain’t 18p !!

I’m not entirely sure that LOAM would say oh no he called asking us to take a discount to the loan note terms as it was a low end settlement would they??

A number of informed folk have said all institutions tape their lines these days on company interactions and that LOAM compliance would have checked the tapes and if anything found untoward the managers would be out…its a thought but i doubt very much that there is a recording that proves the innocence of the call otherwise it would have surfaced by now…after all it is not just the company that is being questioned about information that might have been given ..its also about parties that might have dealt knowing that information.

If there is a tape or transcript available it would be helpful in clearing this up.

If institutions are having calls with the company at midnight on unrecorded lines..thats not so good.

Another question that might be pertinent is how does TH know that such a call took place..it was not made public until TH’s allegations at which time the Chair confirmed it took place.

I have just played the recording back because i could not remember any promise of “conclusive evidence” and the fact is you just made that up didn’t you.

He did say around the serious allegations…”you will see much more in the next couple of days”. As he” doesn't think the company has adequately addressed these matters”

Nowhere does he say conclusive evidence that you “quote” as far as i can see..can you point me to where he said that..thanks. Looking forward to seeing what they have..or have not either way.

If he does have evidence that the company in any way allowed a party to be privy to information above and beyond the 6th rns and they were not wallcrossed on the information received which seems to be the allegation will all the BT “fanboys” still stand by their man ??

My guess is that TH is certainly smart enough to know that making unfounded allegations can be an expensive hobby and i can’t see that anyone mentioned is taking any action against him and the transforming Nanoco site is still up there. So it is his next move and it is getting to the put up time…much of the circumstantial evidence raises concerns for me..and did before TH raised his flag.i wrote to the company with concerns ..no reply, spoke to the company brokers who had not answers , so wrote to the FCA early in February ..at least they acknowledged !

Nothing like being able to see the context…merely pointing out that nanoco are not known for delivering anything on time. If the evidence is part of a legal proceeding then it may be delayed from TH expected timetable..these things happen..but doesn’t mean they wont.

As to the needless name calling , i think it is making you look the lesser person.

Maybe when BT presents the validation of two materials now overdue..sometimes folks can’t meet expected timetables..but I'm confident they both will in due course.

I would imagine if there was categoric evidence it would be released in connection to any court case that was being considered..you know what its like when lawyers are involved always takes longer than expected…but not as long as getting the FCA into gear.

Interesting they have churned through a lump of cash ..but I bet they have a positive equity value over the cash in the business !

They have upped their production facilities and presume working capital requirements as their markets expand. The cost of commercialisation I guess not something Nanoco has had to worry about…yet !

The guys putting the money in are different class to anything Nanoco has ever managed.

Are Nanoco very , very cheap or just not considered to be serious? One or the other one must think as we have always be told the markets they are in are large and growing fast..it’s just that they have never got any traction over many years ..why?

Well thats the end of the financial year today and no news on either of the two material validations…can only hope the new “ around” the financial year end is a few days or weeks not months since validation is a pre condition of any contract it would be good to have cleared that hurdle sooner rather than later.

Considering the recent close scrutiny one would have hoped such timelines were conservatively reached and met.

Going through a process , analysing products , claims construction then followed by engagement..so sounds like no ongoing discussions with any infringing companies.

Where do you get that from ..it didn’t come across like that on their presentation the other day..sounds like they were still in infringement identification stage and had produced a heat map of likely infringers and whether they were worth pursuing.

They did say they have had increased interest in licences for display but again doesn't seem anything at all imminent.

Well I don’t disagree that such opportunities are limited especially now the 85-90% of the market player is paying $65m for all past and future use ( bit of a low bar set) but the Nanoco board made much of validation and pursuing other infringers but now …not so much.

That leaves a bit of a one trick pony on sensors with only 2 materials close to validation developed over a number of years for a customer without knowing the end customer or product.

It really is a fingers crossed and trust the little guidance given over organic contracts(s) ..there again.

I think they guided to 2025 for any licence revenues or litigation from infringement from last presentation ..but there was a heat map to show someone has been thinking about it still ..happy to be corrected there if misunderstood what was said.. Since a key patent expires in 2026 im really not sure time is on their side on their hopes on this front. I think Lee expressed surprise they had not already been going after other infringers ( and lets face it BT says anyone producing commercialCFQDs is infringing so one would hope they know the market !) last year and said would go aggressively straight away if brought on board..perhaps seems a bit more go getting than our Brian.
