in the interview with Proactive on the 13th June Cliff Holloway states he expects the trials to start "in the coming weeks". Which was nearly 7 weeks ago.

personally i think confirmation that the trial has started could see a substantial raise here. We have been building in anticipation since 2015!

It staggers to me to think it has really been 4 years since the trial was announced. I remember reading that RNS that morning, and thinking that was it - the big time.

This share feels like it is on a knife edge at the moment. Way past overdue an update on the start of the trial (given that they stated in june that they were a couple of weeks from starting IIRC). News could see this rocket, lack of news could see it plummet.

For the record - The Diddymen has been posting negatively about CIC since long before the Shareprofits event - and on a vast number of items he has been correct.

This was always a high risk speculative investment for everybody - so to assume that people were all blind and naive to those risks was TD's mistake, but he was correct that those risks existed and they did become significant problems (which are still not resolved)

Reading the article it seems like it is just a cocktail of epitopes given to see if it has any preventative effect.

Correct me if i am wrong (i am sure innanco will jump at the chance to try) but i expect the research collaboration may have hit a number of those traditional milestones already. The $10 mill upfront would be paying someone to try to identify a target. That amount ramps up sharply for a target identified and proven pre-clinically.

the point being is that the terms of that commercial option may simply say that they have to sign a letter of intent, and then have "X" number of months to conclude a deal. Which may or may not include time in BioNtechs own business plan to raise the relevant money. They "may" only announce a deal on formal conclusion of the deal, which could be months after the end of the research collaboration.

You have no way of knowing this. As per the RNS "Upon completion of these studies, BioNTech will have the exclusive option to enter into a licence agreement ". You do not know the terms of this option.

how is that bleeding obvious? I would have thought it a likely scenario that if the end of June came and went without any announcement, then a lot of investors would take that to mean no deal is going to happen.

??? I haven't previously stated/suggested/alluded (delete as applicable) to the fact that a deal would be announced prior to float. In fact, you introduced that possibility.

All i have stated is that the research collaboration may be due to come to an end, but none of us know any details of the commercial option, and one possible scenario is that nothing happens with that commercial option until after BionTech float.

Or to put in another way, the absence of an announced deal at the end of June does not equate to Biontech declining the commercial option.

no.. i don't think they will announce a deal until they conclude it, as they will be bound by an NDA. And yes i do think they will float before doing a deal for moditope.

I fully understand the point you are making that they will be valued more on IPO if they have secured moditope already. But my gut feel is they will conclude the deal after floating. There is logic to floating first and then securing the crown jewels.

no doubt at all they would be in a better position floating with Moditope in their stable, but it is my belief that they may need to float to be able to afford it.

The research collaboration is scheduled to end soon, but we have no idea of the terms of the commercial agreement/option. It may be that they are looking to float BionTech before any deal is done, and the option may allow time for that.

between the Moditope CAB, the SCIB1 trial investigators, the SCIB2 link with CRUK and the TCR link with BioNTech and Genetech, I think we have a "Who's who" of peers associated with us.

@inanaco - the request was to try to put it in simple layman's terms - that's what i was attempting. I appreciate that it does't truly represent the science in its detailed form, or reflect all of the mechanisms by which it works.

When a tumor cell rapidly grows it uses up all the nutrients that the blood supply can provide. The cells get stressed. They start to consume unwanted proteins and give off proteins in the process. Moditope converts these proteins and when they do, the immune system recognises the tumor and triggers a powerful immune response. Moditope 1 and 2 are just two different ways in which these proteins and converted.
