Burble Indonesia think that is the case here.. registration and allocation of the DHO number is not "provisional". From everything I have read, the allocation of the DHO number is the final green light needed to start treating patients, and we know that we have that number allocated.

I think given that the selection criteria is a key element of the ethics review, then I don't believe they would be able to start selection prior to ethics sigh off.

That said, I think I did make an error in the original post, as the trial registration was today but the ethics sign off was at the committee on the 2nd.

Also worth noting that the selection period is for "up to 15 days".

That seems to be correct. However, i believe Scancell have previously said they would be applying to the MHRA for trial expansion into the UK on the basis of the safety data from the initial doses.

Might be a while till it is on the Clinical Trials register. From what I can gather, I think the SANCTR only updates the primary registers on a quarterly basis.

As per the title - Ethics approved today and the trial is now registered on the South African Clinical Trials Register. Expect first patient dosed soon!

Prof Durrant has the options on more shares now than she did this morning. Hardly bugging out is she??

The last time we had an after hours RNS it was followed the next morning with a positive trial RNS.

To be clear, the trial could still start in a matter of days. As I understand it, as soon as you have logged the trial on the register you can begin dosing.

@chester the requirements remain the same irrespective of covid related or not.. what changes is the time line. Afaik

@Chester I hate to burst your bubble, but South Africa requires a trial to have both regulator and ethical committee approval. Once it has these it must be registered on the South African Clinical Trial Registry and be allocated a unique identifier, prior to being able to administer any dose. Covidity is not yet registered as a trial, and we don't yet know if it has ethical approval.

Of course that could all change in an instant, with the registration of the trial (I'm keeping a close eye on that)!

I did record it in case anything was said, but it's not worth publishing. The only interesting part for me was putting a face to name of the person that has been on a lot of Scancell research papers and posters.

Unfortunately that part is very much true. Shareholders did vote for that. As well as a resolution ratifying all the actions of the Board for something like the last 10 years.. which was a bit like lemmings going over a cliff.

I'd be more interested to know how, as CEO (appointed by shareholders) of CIC Fund (with its stated ambition of providing funding/financial services alongside the advisory services of CIC Capital) he hasn't contradicted his fiduciary duty and legal obligation to act in the best interest of the shareholder, when he has set up a directly competing business in his own ownership?
