Sounds familiar?17 Sep 2019 11:07
According to Investors Chronicle-yes I know I should by now have cancelled the subscription, but one waits expectantly to hear good comment about BMN-,
"Yesterday the US Department of Justice accused the precious metals trading desk at JP Morgan of running, over 8 years, a racketeering conspiracy to manipulate markets. Global head of the department Michael Nowak faces charges of a ‘‘massive, multi-year scheme…[to] defraud market participants…through a pattern of racketeering activity’’ and together with another 2 colleagues ‘’engage in a complex scheme to trade precious metals in a way that negatively affected the natural balance of supply and demand’’.
Vanadium seems to me to be a precious metal.
Does this article mean that someone somewhere is at last addressing market manipulation by MMs? Does manipulation of commodity prices parallel manipulation of share prices, or does it have no parallel? Or do I have it wrong?
If right , what are our country's authorities doing to make manipulation too dangerous to contemplate?
Just a query!
