The most accurate costing data must surely be held by Acciona .....They have been trialling a PEM system since February and our Power Tower since Mid August .....should not be to complex to work that out .....
Would VARD have been asked to make an upfront payment for the development work that AFC are undertaking for the 2 x 600 Kw systems for the Zero Coaster project ......and is it likely that Ricardo will be involved .
It has been six months since ABB announced the completion of the proof of concept of the Ammonia based fuel cell ..... https://datacenternews.asia/amp/story/abb-unlocks-sustainable-energy-upgrades-for-data-centers ..we also know that Acciona witnessed an Ammonia based fuel cell on their vist to Dunsfold last November .....using this information is it likely that we will see a deployment soon using the Ammonia Cracker system .....the ABB 100 kW system perhaps ?
From the AFC website you can see the Methanol Fuel Tower appears to be an add on to the Power Tower and not integrated into it .....i wonder if the real thing is much different in production form ..... https://www.afcenergy.com/our-offering/technology-products ....Scroll to bottom of the page .
comet-1.......That sounds like a sensible explanation ......Thank you. So these components are behind the emergency button panel on the right hand side .
If you compare the last set of photos of the Keltbray Power Tower ....can that photo of the Electrical components really be part of the same system ?.....We know the Power Tower was assembled in the Keltbray compound ....and from the photo with AFC employees doing that assembly you can clearly see the compound fencing through the open cabinet ....yet the photo from the Dunsfold factory shows fully assembled electrical components ......more confusion or is this part of the "new Power Tower " ... https://www.keltbray.com/2022/10/26/uk-first-keltbray-trials-hydrogen-fuel-cell-technology-on-m621-project/
Alt-muddle...... If we look at the Acciona RNS from 3rd October ....one of the highlight notes mentioned " Operational experience has identified further system cost reduction potential and improved operational robustness and reliability " So was the extreme Spanish summer heat taking the Power Tower to near to Temperature overload ?.....some additional cooling is most likely .....but the thought of a 20kW Power Tower would be good news as we head towards the ABB 100kw system delivery date .....i think some people here would like to read your views on this .
While there is clearly some agreement not to disclose the client or its deployment location .....surely AFC could at least post some information on the actual system we have all just seen .
Thanks for posting those images Segedunum......as you say clearly a much larger footprint ....could we be looking at the first 20kW Power Tower ? .... why else would they be using a bigger cabinet? if it is just for extra stability they could have just used a wider base .....intriguing.
It is early days for the Keltbray Power Tower .....remember these are trials .....i would imagin that Keltbray will use this system as an EV charger to get experience with the potential that is available and find various roles for the system in a real world construction enviroment .
