Sale process - what’s next23 Mar 2026 21:27
Back to the topic as plenty of posts that add zero value here.
Whats next in the process?:
- strategic buyer: possible, but can’t have material antitrust risk. The Board needs to get things done asap.
- PE buyer: possible, returns work for them until 260p, but depends if Tosca/Mediclinic agree to that
- another Pusu? I can imagine the press is digging for names in the process. Could trigger another Pusu.
- MBO?: don’t forget Tosca/Harwood have private capital vehicles. If they partner with a LP/fund they could take Spire private for cheap, ie 220p or so, but I doubt Mediclinic would agree
Overall risk/reward is obviously much better for longs now, good short squeeze potential as well. The Board needs to put in some night shifts now, otherwise imo hard to imagine any of them seeing another term.
