First sets of results from commencement of study will be at the 2 week point, these results will be from the following 8 assessments:

The NEWS 2 is based on aggregate scoring of physiological measurements including respiration rate, oxygen saturation, systolic blood pressure, pulse rate, level of consciousness and temperature

Number of patients with an deterioration in the National Early Warning Score (NEWS) 2 in each treatment arm [ Time Frame: Day 1 to Day 14 ]
The NEWS 2 is based on aggregate scoring of physiological measurements including respiration rate, oxygen saturation, systolic blood pressure, pulse rate, level of consciousness and temperature

A reliable coronavirus antibody test could be ready for mass production by June, according to a firm in the south Wales valleys involved in the project.

BBI Solutions in Crumlin is part of a consortium working with Oxford University to create the test.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has described antibody tests - which check whether someone has had Covid-19 - as a potential "game changer".

BBI is also developing an app to record test results

"A test is already in use at the UK government's Porton Down labs in Wiltshire, but is being reserved to estimate population immunity"

Scotland's health secretary Jeane Freeman announced on Friday work would begin next week testing blood to give an indication of how many people have had coronavirus.

Coronavirus: DeepMatter wins contract to supply DigitalGlassware system for use in the drug discovery process.

The renowned Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow has partnered with DeepMatter as it shifts its focus from finding the cure to cancer to addressing the current coronavirus pandemic.



DeepMatter is the creator of the DigitalGlassware system, a platform where chemists can record and store huge amounts of data about experiments online so they can be shared with others on the internet. The technology will be used by the Beatson Institute's drug discovery unit to share research output with chemistry specialists in China.



DeepMatter said: "The use of DigitalGlassware means the Drug Discovery Unit will be able to share its cutting-edge chemistry across locations, so that work is not needlessly duplicated nor time and money wasted, and ultimately so new discoveries might be made faster."



Meanwhile, Justin Bower, Joint Head of the Drug Discovery Unit and Head of Chemistry at the institute said: "DeepMatter's technology is some of the most innovative we have seen to date and we look forward to working with them to test its capabilities."



He added: "We know that improved reproducibility in our work, particularly when achieved across multiple sites, will lead to enhanced productivity and a faster speed of discovery."
