Interesting article, this is the paragraph that really stands out to me:
Differentiation has always been difficult … in streaming music, all the main services have access to broadly the same range of unlimited content,” said Futuresource’s Sidebottom. “From a features point of view, they are working with also a similar toolbox; if one does it, it’s often replicated.”
With our new app the differentiation that services have struggled with will be there for the first time. The app will be begging to be bought out by a Tencent / Apple / Amazon etc etc who will be in a place to really take it to the next level. Exciting times and thanks for sharing Geordie really supports the reason we are all here!
Stockopedia have our revenues down as 256k not our actual circa 100m so maybe they are the suckers... useless suckers at that!
I can assure you all a 5 year Live Nation deal will be announced in due course when the industry conditions allow now stop wetting the bed! How on earth can Live Nation push Wireless through Veeps without a production company you fool!??????? You clearly do not and have never understood what Veeps is! Staggering ignorance displayed time and time and time again!!!
Wooop!!! Hello Napster!!! Let's start this board with a bit of positivity eh it's getting depressing reading the MVR board! Let's also hope that the company now start to give us all (including Rikki and Desperate Dan) some news to cultivate that positivity! 3 months into the year we now need to hear what the plans are pre-app release. I am fully expecting to hear some board changes announced soon and hopefully a tie up with Live Nation for future events and fingers crossed some of this summer's festivals! All the best in this new dawn! x
That was out of my control Rik... I mean London Dan! Lets talk COP Monday! Hope you both have a great weekend!
HUUUUUGE!! Even Rikki and Londondan (same person) are rubbing their legs like a cricket!!
Imagine not being involved in this come Monday 7am! Lunacy! Double RNS day?? Even if it was delayed by a week!
agree max it's quite clear the social media team running Napster are a LOT more competent than the Melody social media team who it would appear has been run by a 12 year child on work experience for the last 4 years. Imo Melodys socials have already been taken over by the Napster team as our output has also improved dramatically recently so hopefully we have at least a semi competent individual in charge of both accounts now. The previous MVR social media person I think was cross fertilised with a chicken at birth an absolute sub species of humanity!
They probably know they are getting sacked so probs just wrapped their hand in!
Have to say I agree on this one Themis it's an embarrassment still having Rhapsody up there as owners - shows a distinct lack of pride in what the board are trying to achieve - embarrassing and inexcusable!
Next week we go BOOM BOOM! Load up now or miss the launch of a lifetime! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
We were all in the meeting - its gonna be HUGE its gonna be MASSIVE and it's about to drop any day hold onto your hats people Napster is about to land with a BANG!!!!
* typo - omit the word "text"
Haha themis you clearly dont get it either - that was purely to connect your phone to a headset - you can utilise the VR text technology without a headset direct through the app what part of this don't people understand? You DON'T need a headset to utilise our unique technology! Jeez can't believe I have to explain this to supposed long term holders!
Rikki you can utilise the VR element of our app via your mobile phone and you will soon be able to utilise it through the Napster tv app as well by rotating the camera using the remote control arrow buttons and switching hotspots as well - why do you constantly misunderstand that the VR aspect of this company is purely via a headset when it isnt? Stop misrepresenting things you dont understand its embarrassing to read! The VR aspect of our product merely adds an interactive element to every performance via any media you choose to watch it on and if youd bothered to even test the product then youd know this adds a huge dynamic and personalised experience to every gig you watch in comparison to a boring traditional static filmed 2D performance.
Hear hear Albert! Couldn't agree more with your last comment, it was messy but was a necessary evil caused by an accountancy screw up during the Napster raise. We knew another raise was needed from the resubmission document and now it's done so can we stop crying about the cln issue and get back to focusing on why that money was needed- to build an app that is going to revolutionise the music industry - that dont come cheap. Melody may have been guilty of going after something they couldn't quite afford, but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, they now have the necessary finance in place albeit not in the perfect manner we would have hoped, but boy is the next year going to be sensational now! Sellers beware the bottom is in and the ride up is gonna be rapid when it commences!
I have mentioned this before in our Twitter group, I do find it an odd one releasing an app into asia that is soon to be effectively dead in the water. It would have made sense if they added in the Napster streaming subscription as well with a link added in so you could switch easily between the Melody VR app and the Napster app and with a caveat to customers explaining that the two seperate apps would soon become one. However as far as I'm aware that isnt included in the Singtel deal. The only reason I can see behind the deal is to use Singapore as a testing ground for the 5G and I imagine both Singtel and Melody will get a lot of good data back from the experiment in terms of how people use the app etc. I dont believe for one minute the Singapore deal is seen as a money maker, it's more about getting customer feedback and using it as a trial before a much more significant full Napster app rollout into Singtels other 20+ asian territories later in the year when the integration is fully complete.
Heres hoping LF I'm a huge theatre fan myself so it would be amazing to see sonething m as unlikely as I think it is. Will keep my prayer mat out!
I'm not expecting anything from the theatre side of things personally LF, all reports suggests JG is in financial turmoil and a TR1 confirming hes out and has been the constant seller would not surprise me. However I sincerely hope that is not the case as the theatre side of things was hugely exciting but with indoor gatherings sounding to still be years away I just cant see the theatre aspect taking off anytime soon. Maybe we will reconvene with Gore farther down the line but for now I'd be surprised if anything happens for a long while.
I see there was a leaked Arden note doing the rounds from their latest broker note in October with a recommended price of 20.3p. Management plans to expand the offering to include the following, for no additional charge beyond the current subscription rate: Education and learning – primarily music skills;Exclusive artist content – interviews, backstage, etc.Short form episodic content – reality through to scripted;Documentaries; and Music feature filmsThe group’s priority into FY21E is to complete the integration, create and launch the new combined app and manage its user base. The group will aim to retain Napster’s 1.1m subscribers (and incremental users affiliated through B2B channels) while converting MelodyVR’s c.325k users into subscribers on the new platform. The launch of the new app is slated to occur in the autumn of 2021, providing time to complete the significant number of internal workflows. Thereafter, growth-oriented marketing spend is expected to grow the user base to approximately double the user count into FY22E. This will coincide with the group expanding its operating footprint into new geographies, targeting a total of 33 countries. Post-launch, the group plans expansion into the likes of Australia, South Korea, India and China.
