Scoobydoo321 - The previous stake holders, Griffiths being one of them who didn't participate in the new placement are looking to get out completely, they wouldn't have purchased any extra at 8p. Yes they are selling at a loss, but what you'll probably find is that they have made an overall profit on their portfolio, by selling their under performing shares they are crystallised a loss which will reduce the amout of capital gains tax but also achieve their aim of exiting form a company they no longer wish to be invested in. Best time of the year to do it hence the relentless selling.
Alternatively as per my earlier posts, someone has a possible inclining that the trial will be unsuccessful and are selling in advanced, I think my first example seems a lot more plausible and fits in quite nicely with what is going on, and with that I mind the selling doesn't seem so illogical. IMHO
