The results of the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility were announced today, with Northern Foods securing Gold status amongst the 141 businesses which participated in Business in the Community’s Corporate Responsibility Index. Northern Foods ranks alongside Cadbury, Marks & Spencer and Rolls-Royce in the index.
In the current climate it is more important than ever for businesses to acknowledge the impact they have on society and the environment and commit to tackling the issues, not just because they should, but because it’s good for business.
In achieving Gold level, Northern Foods has demonstrated that it integrates and improves responsibility throughout its operations by providing a systematic approach to managing, measuring and reportingon businessimpactsin society and onthe environment. Northern Foods also picked up a Rural Action Award, recognising companies which work to create sustainable communities.
