Airlines to halve carbon emissions22 Sep 2009 11:26
Airlines agree to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 1.5% per year over the next decade, from Mondays Guardian. "The British Airways chief executive, Willie Walsh, will unveil an agreement between airlines, airports and aircraft companies to cut emissions to 50% below 2005 levels by 2050. Airlines are expected to lose $11bn (£6.8bn) this year, according to IATA, and their weak balance sheets will be strained further by carbon permits, analysts say.
This makes GTE's technology a no brainer, as it pays the airlines to adopt it thro' fuel savings. Also GTE provides solutions for burning a wider variety and quality of fuels such as liquefied natural gas, clean coal, and alternative fuel blends. This may be a slow burner, but don't be on the sidelines when this takes off!
