6 new Covid-19 cases have been discovered in Wuhan (source: www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-china-wuhan-idUSKBN22N24F) perhaps the second wave of the virus has now begun? As investors look for safer investments, is gold and gold producers possibly the answer?
Yes, they have.
The fundamentals of this company are good, but the wider market sentiment is jut not here atm...
@Deedsnotwords you're in the wrong place if you want people to show respect to each other. Markets are a 'meeting place' for people with their various (and competing) interests and perceptions come into conflict. When you throw money into the mix, these things are exacerbated.
You choose to hold? That's your decision, and I hope it works for you (but it certainly won't for others). I personally take no issue with people expressing their honestly-held and evidence-based views. I'm more annoyed at people who engage is useless conspiracy theories about the role of Market Makers (MMs) and their role in investment exchanges. In the last week, I've seen far too many instances of people attributing drops in SP to the actions of MMs; not only is doing so wrong, it damages the functioning of the market, preventing it from working effectively.
ARahim; what's strange about cutting your losses and reducing some of your holding in KOD (that 3,100,000 sell was me). While I expect to continue holding some KOD stock, I simply don't see how it's legitimate to criticise other people's strategies when many of us LTHs have seen very little return on investment in the last 18 months.
My position regarding this particular subject is that I don't believe the stock is immensely oversold (though I am surprised that it has declined >200p). With large reductions in the SP across the board (as well as the de-merger on the cards) , I would be surprised to see the NAV and TNAV as close to the figures given; we're talking about expectations after-all.
How are you determining it's been oversold?
NZGreen, what metrics are you referring to specifically? KOD has two land holdings in Mali; 200km2 in Bougouni West and 109km2 with the Diendio project (and in addition, collectively has rights to 800km2 in Mali total). MLL has 100 km2 with the Goulamina project so on that measurement, it's not "much smaller".
When it comes to other available metrics, from the looks of it we're not comparing mines at the same stage in their development cycle. Goulamina seems to be in the situation where 100% of the resource is in the 'indicated' category with an estimated 16 year lifespan. However KOD's Bougouni West resource is 55% indicated with a minimum of 8.5 year lifespan (which if we were to assume the 100% it would be 15.5 year lifespan).
I doubt KOD will beat MLL to production, but we can all dream can't we?
