The new capacity, larger, more cost efficient vessels should offset some of that 3card .
Take P&O they could sell Arcadia & Aurora but will have more capacity with Iona which has not yet carried a passenger and a new Sister due in 2022.
The market is changing from longtime traditional cruisers who like the traditional ships to younger families who want modern vessels with with lots of attractions. Even when we get the green light to sail things will be very different. It will be interesting to see if those places that moaned about the impact of cruise ships, such as Barcelona, Venice, Dubrovnik etc, welcome them back. K

This is the minimum hold to qualify for On Board Credit, shareholder benefit.
I was checking prices for UK origin cruises for late this year/early 2022, figure about 15% higher price and reduced OBC . Bookings are strong but many of those are rebookings which purchased using earlier cancelled cruise credit which was uplifted by 25% . Cruising folks are generally pretty loyal to a chosen Line such Cunard & P&O and there is a huge pent up demand once the green light given to resume sailing. K

Heard from my Nephew who is back in Perth for Christmas hols . He works in mining and knows Rincon and rates their project.
I asked what was it like out there , “ It’s like the ar*hole of the World “ he replied in his broad Scouse but the money is great. K

Agree, the price is beyond expectation. The bookings ahead are very strong and at prices 10-15% higher than cancelled 2020 cruises. Not sure how Carnival Group capacity is now as some older, smaller ships have left the fleet but as in the case with P&O a huge one ( Iona ) has been added.
On resumption, ships will need to be worked up and crews retrained in Covid procedures so not expecting many sailings before Summer 21. K

I’m going steady though, last time I bottom fed was SIRIUS Minerals which although I came out positive was a big disappointment. K

Cunard vessels are normally on long trips in the first quarter, World cruise etc so before resumption of sailings they will “dry dock” them for upgrade, refit or maintenance which would be scheduled for sometime ( normally every 5 years) So they are not actually cancelling many new cruises . Good strategy but all ships will need working up and crews retraining in new Covid safe procedures.

A couple of years ago it touched £50 .
Lots of small Investors are cruisers and just own the minimum 100 shares which qualifies them for On Board Credit so if they are regular cruisers most won’t have sold at the highs . Many will have held and have high averages, still in big paper loss but things going the right way. K

It’s volatile, lots of small PIs banking a couple of quid uptick and lots of small PIs buying to qualify for On Board Credit, just 100 shares needed to get £150 OBC on 14 day cruise.
Many folks have cruises booked from rolled over cancellations and many of those are small PIs mostly for the OBC across all Carnival brands . K

Agree, I had hoped Aviva would have bid for RSA to keep it UK based but you are right a dividend is likely as things become clearer.
Some consolidation still to come in this sector , Aviva/ L&G tie up would be interesting. K

You are right TS, but those who had only paid a deposit got 25% added to their deposit value but based on UK pricing for 2021 they face price increases of 10-15% and reduced ON Board Credit for like to like cruises. Probably that applies across the group so some claw back and no doubt my large Black Label will have gone up !
