P&O say forward bookings through 2022 are very strong. Many of these will be folks using Future Cruise Credits from cancelled 2020/21 cruises. They were given 125% of cancelled cruise value against new bookings. K

The RNS the other day was quite positive and saying the cash burn was less than expected.
Lack of activity likely to be the cause , with no immediate reason for a bounce and no prospect of dividends the big players not interested. Personal small trading unlikely to impact the price so it will drift . In the Doldrums we are shipmate, in the Doldrums. K

No big trades, just cruise people buying for future on board credit or selling as they don’t see any likelihood of cruising in near future. Think it will be in the doldrums until Q3 earliest.
It’s a dividend stock and those unlikely for a couple of years after recovering losses and paying down high priced debt. Expect £12 - £15 range this year. K

Charlesrixon, When we’ve travelled to countries where jabs required or recommended our medics have issued us with a “vaccine passport “ which can be updated.
Yellow Fever areas, the Line would require proof of jab or an exemption certificate.
No doubt they could do that with the Covid if required. K

Britannia wouldn’t be our first choice but never experienced any problems such as you mention but yes the balconies are tiny.
Before this becomes a cruise thread I believe it will be a couple of years after resumption of sailing that CCL will be able to pay a dividend. Likely no income for 18 months and huge expensive borrowings to pay down will keep the price in the £12-£15 range. As we scaled down our holding I’m not too bothered as I’d just like to get cruising again but I do miss the $0.50C dividend each quarter. K

Several years ago I met the Carnival UK Chairman ( he was local then ) and he told me that the UK division was the most profitable in the group. Always full ships, rarely discounted prices and when on board Brits spend. That was before Britannia in 2015, just after Azura joined the fleet. K

With 30 plus cruises we have done many, over priced excursions, but mostly in new cities.
Today, where it’s possible to walk safely we prefer to do our own thing. Culture in the morning, then a nice lunch in local restaurant.
What we’ve learned from Covid , sitting on a packed bus for several hours and visiting crowded tourist sites will not be our choice. I’m sure the cruise lines will adapt accordingly but we will be very cautious. Incidentally, I received the P&O Peninsular magazine today, some interesting new destinations planned. K

I’m not sure about the future of Arcadia & Aurora, they are launched 2005 & 2000 so getting on a bit
There is a huge cost bringing them up to latest marine environmental laws and by their age they are less fuel efficient. On the positive side they are usually full and have a loyal following who are willing to pay a higher price per person per night than those on the bucket and spade boats.
If corporate at Carnival say to P&O one or two must go then I fear our old favourites will be top of the candidate list as might a Cunard. K

Aida Germany extend their cruise pause until March 6th when they hope to resume Canaries cruises. A tad optimistic I’d say . K

Two cancelled last year and one for Feb ( roundtrip Caribbean ) We have booked Iona for Nov to Canaries ( always go at that time ) The new ship doesn’t have the “ rides “ fortunately but it’s very big. I just hope they can survive the shutdown and can resume sailings later this year.
I held quite a few CCL at one time as it was a very sound stock with a good dividend stream but now I’ve reduced it to minimum levels for both Mrs & I to qualify for OBC. K

Correct 3card, reading your comments we could have sailed together , lol.
Regrettably in P&O case, Aurora & Arcadia are the oldest in the fleet so they could be vulnerable, there again those two are the only vessels suitable for long and World cruises.
By the way we were just leaving Madeira tonight 4 years ago after the first stop on our Arcadia Worldie. Cheers K
