The PzH 2000 is arguably the world's most sophisticated artillery piece. Not only is it self-propelled, its quick-fire mode allows it to fire three rounds in quick succession, on different arcs, so the shells land on target in near synchronization -- basically catching any enemy equipment or personnel in the open with multiple rounds. When firing as a multi-unit battery, this function can be absolutely devastating. Moreover, when the PzH 2000 is combined with American artillery radar tracking systems, the PzH can track enemy artillery fire back to its source, and then lay closely targeted and vastly destructive counter-battery fire on the enemy artillery units. A dozen of these German artillery pieces will have an impact on the war in the Donbass; in combination with the 120 American-made 155 mm towed arty units, and the 10 French-made 155 mm Caesar arty units, this has the potential to be a game-changer. I hope the Ukrainian artillerymen are paying attention in their orientation and training sessions, because these NATO 155 mm howitzers can change the course of the war vs. the Russians -- and these NATO arty units are a lot more effective than the Soviet-designed 152 mm antiques with which they were previously equipped.
