This seems like a logical thought process based on recent events. I guess the main question for us as shareholders is what effect would a battle between Elliot / GSK / UK Govt do to the share price???
I know this is on a very basic level but just the fact people are returning to doctors/hospitals for treatments coupled with seemingly good news relating to VIR - you'd have thought this share would be heading northwards by now.

Not long until Dave rides off into the sunset. Going to be very interesting if there's a sudden increase in shares being sold once he's gone. Of course he's a wealthy man but he's lost a few million quid in share value over this last 6 weeks and that is always going to sting.
Unless there's something in the offing we don't know, this SP should really be trickling down to 0.5p over the next few months. Dave must know that better than anybody so why wouldn't he be trying to turn his shares over immediately after leaving - even if he was planning on buying back in at the end of the year and getting even more shares for his money.
Going to be interesting to see what he does...

The figures at first glance look good but I don't like the look of the development costs for the sites. The MCap of Cuda even with all that oil is £4m. Is that right?!

Brom, are you afraid of the Biden situation when it comes to future FO's? I know 88 has large acreage but actually being awarded the permits to drill has to be a concern?

Hi all. If I were to invest in GSK, when it comes to the company split will my shares be split equally to into 2 separate companies or will GSK become a holdings company?

Been in 88e since before the Icewine days. Averaged down to 1p over the years but have just sold the 2m shares I had. I rarely post but always read this group and just want to say a quick thank you to Brom, Phron, Mickey, Ddraig and a few other mainstays for their great content.

Maybe I'll regret selling up but the maths and risk vs reward tips the balance towards selling at this point. I can see how the company could justify a 500m MC (4-5p SP) IF this oil is proven to flow but to miss would be it likely crash to 0.3p and its too risky in my eyes. Even if its proven to flow there's obvious concerns about the political situation over in the US.

Good luck to the LTH if they're staying in but for me its time to back out. It's almost as if a lot of newbies on the board and in the US don't even know the correlation between SP, MC and no of shares in issue and that scares the s**t out of me.

As we all are, I'm desperate for a good drill this/next month. It would be the most 88E thing ever to draw a blank after our neighbours have just struck oil in 4 zones. I had to laugh (or I'd cry) in one of the most recent presentations where we listed the most recent 10 drills in Alaska and WINX was the only one to miss.
I can't seem to find any seismic graphs in the recent presentation which shows depths at which we are hoping to intersect our zones? I know we are drilling to 6,000ft - which doesn't seem deep at all when you consider PANR's pay zones were all intersected at deeper than this. Any re-assurance from anyone?

Like everyone else, I'm well under water here after buying in at 1p. I'm absolutely reeling after Arthur's reappearance stating the service provider was to be announced 'by the end of the month (September)' only to release an RNS saying there was a contractual dispute a few days later.

Its bull**** that things like this don't have knock on effects despite what Cathy might have said to individual PI's via email. Sick to death of the downright lies and the utter contempt this company holds for its shareholders.

It simply cannot be the case that the only reason DW is coming to London is to deliver this presentation. It just can't. I refuse to believe it.

We can all read and the presentation is there for all to see, we don't need someone to read it for us whilst we look at the fancy graphics.

Don't get me wrong - I really like that DW seems keen to keep us all in the picture regarding operations with his presentations and Q & A's but now it really is time to start to deliver. Read too many presentations with lines like "cream the curve", "the time is now", "farm out imminent" - if I was being pessimistic I'd say its all sounding to start rather desperate and rampy.

Anyway, as I said, there's no way DW is coming over just to deliver this at what must be a very busy time for him. Was hoping there'd be farm out news Weds/Thurs but that seems unlikely now. Hopefully he's got some potential company transforming meetings lined up and is just keeping up appearances with us PI's whilst he's over...

Sold out here a few months back but have been keeping an eye on it since as I do intend to jump back in at some point...

Shares are often complicated to get your head around the pros/cons with all the financials etc but in my head this one is pretty simple. The London Eye churns out a massive £26m of profit every year and you would think NYW would be comparable so CHAL's 3% could be worth a very easy £780k pa. This obviously doesn't correlate with a company that has a £580k mcap and you would think this would increase the mcap to around £3.5m-£4m which is a nice 7 bag from here.

Of course shares are never that simple.

The court case and hiring new contractor is taking its time but think it will happen, however, our 3% is likely to become 2% as surely there is a dilution in equity coming (we have no money to contribute to likely project shortfall and can't do a placing at this price). Then I'm sure there will be building delays as there always is with this sort of thing, plus CHAL have an MD who has made some dubious (put mildly) decisions - all of a sudden a 7 bag is sounding more like a 3 bag but who turns their noses up at that eh?

IMO the best thing MG can do is sit on his hands whilst the whole NYW thing plays out. There isn't the cash or the share price to be trying to start new projects, if recent exploits are to go by - it'll probably do more harm than good anyway...

Not sure why people are disappointed there is no RNS today. The last RNS said flow testing was recommencing on the 11th - so that's what is happening. Only reason for an RNS would be for any significant delays so pleased we haven't had one!

Quite new to buying shares but bought in here when it was around 1p thinking it was an easy double up on contractor news. Hurts to sell out and lose a couple of grand but that's what I've done. Getting the �100k back seems its going be an expensive chew (if it happens at all), wheel costs sound like they're going to spiral which will leave Chal either heavily diluted in the asset or more CLN's used to raise money to contribute to the funding needed to keep its 2-3% share. Outlook is incredibly bleak and MG has not inspired any confidence at all, still flabbergasted he gave that �100k away (it was 50% of the companies entire balance! Incredible really). Couple of trading lessons learned for me here. Good luck all.

Very happy with RNS. Sitting on a 1p average and just wish I had some spare funds to get my average heavily lowered. The risk to reward at these prices is ridiculous. The delay to NNPC is frustrating but can't find any instances where its been refused so will happen (SP increase), finance sounds nearly over the line and waiting for NNPC (SP increase), contractors will then be announced (SP increase), start drilling (SP increase).... Likely to be looking at a healthy profit even before rates announced imo.
