Hey all you retail investors....this SABA guy has targetted 7 investment trusts specifically because they have large percentage of retail investors who are notoriously bad at voting...use your vote or lose your IT's integrity .

His proposal is to put his nominees, and not independent of his company, in as board directors....and these are considered a better option than the current board?!? Interestingly he hasn't picked on JEMA(abominable board) or other ITs run by US companies.

Is this judgement safe? If extrapolated across all industries where "retailer" commissions have not been legally disclosed until recent legislation, viz: buildings insurance, the ramifications are frightening.

I am not a big fan of share buybacks but what has been written in this instance would appear to give comfort to the shareholders, and the execs performance rewards, however, how would you show that ABDN has done anything to support the share price with their long term buyback programme? As the wise words below say the issue is one of perception.
