Is the plan that Anders and Mike strangle hold Asos into being dissolved to remove the competition to the other fashion companies they hold?

Not sure why a gamble on a takeover, there was an offer in December, and i'm sure a lot of holders are currently angry that it was not accepted.

if an offer comes now, then there will be some pressure to court or accept it.

The BoD and Anders are hardly making great vocal efforts to make me believe anything else would be better.

Whats even funnier is that Asos paid £330m only a couple of years ago for acquire Top Shop.

hilarious the price is here, I hope Alibaba comes along and acquires the company for £1.7b

I personally believe in the company and market, and hope the price stays here for a few months so i can put a few more pay checks into.

however, it is laughable to see that the current value for the company is here, considering a takeover bid was on the table months ago for 3X as much.

All seems to be pointing to a takeover in the works, and MS trying to buy fast to get vote power.

All seems to be hinting at a takeover being worked on in the background, how long until this gets announced.....

Looks like the big players are moving round to capitalise from a either a takeover offer or return to profits.

either way, buy the dips while you can.

Could see multiple bids here, imagine if Alibaba buy up Asos, that could be a massive change to the fashion retail market!

If taken private what would be the cost? £1.7b?

If a takeover is in the works, then makes sense why 2 major holders bought lots at the placing, and now why Mike Ashley is also increasing his holding.

As such, could we see a takeover bid in the next couple of weeks?

Expecting a nice RNS to say there is a £2.5b takeover offer......

Perfect takeover target for a company that has access to fashion manufacturing channels, as buying Asos gives instant access to a large customer base that they can funnel merchandise to quickly.

And it gives access to great fashion IP, with Top Shop et al, which a great profit growth areas in Asos now with D2C sales of own product.

So even a £3B takeover by Alibaba would be a bargain for them.

ASOS got an offer from Trendyol (Alibaba) in December for £1.2B.

Mike Ashley increased his holding this month.

And the recent share placing by the 2 main holders to increase their holdings.

Would expect that another bid is going to be on the table soon.......
