I’m not surprised that there is a huge premium to the current joke of a share price. If ever there was a buy signal, it’s that, plus the bod buying at 0.5p after the results. Sadly, I put in all my cash at much higher levels, so will have to see what I can afford in coming weeks.

He has put out the negative, ahead of the positive. I would not have wanted to see a first ore through new concentrator RNS, followed by a placing RNS. That would have been VERY messy.

What I am NOT in favour of, is the subsidies paid to move production from the UK to the EU, fishing rules that make us ditch beautiful fish back in the sea, as we follow stupid EU rules, while our partners ignore them, a CAP that pushes up the price of our food, to support small EU farms created through the Napoleonic Code, Germany being an economic exporting giant, based in part on the artificially low Euro.... I could, and sometimes do, go on and on.

European, I’m very happy for the EU to be a massive exporter of pork. I’m also happy that they have no trade war with China, at the present time.

My point was, that China, faced with a domestic and regional epidemic of swine flu, vastly reducing supplies of one of its food staples, would benefit from improving its relationship with the US, which provides, or should that be provided, considerable tonnages of food.

A trade deal would help to stimulate growth in both countries and world economies generally.

At no point did I intend to imply that the EU is inferior to the US in any aspect. I apologise if that was the impression I gave you.

I went to a South African free-pour wine tasting last Monday. Over forty exhibitors, very keen to sell into the British market. We tried about 25 wines from about 15 producers and there were only two wines I didn’t like. We bought from 5 different vineyards.

The absolute stars were Circumstance Mourvèdre Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, and Circle of Life 2015, from Waterkloof. Biodynamic viticulture. Don’t know if that’s the big difference between those and other wines, but they were stunning, to my palate.

Fingers crossed, they are cheaper in post-apocalyptic breggsit Britain. No food on the shelves and no jobs, so stockpile wine to ease our transition to oblivion.

Tonlin, I am on a boycott of French produce in general. I still buy Spanish and Italian stuff and still holiday in Spain and Italy. I’m practicing for the drastic food shortages after Brexit. The one where Europe prefers to see its food rot in the Channel ports, rather than being paid for it. Crafty blighters them Euros.

I don’t knowingly buy German stuff. At least if we have to get food aid from the US, fewer ships will be torpedoed this time round. Well, that’s my hope.
