HarChris, I’m not worried about people trying it, then dumping it, because there is a definite need for it. Take El Salvador, for example. They get $5Bn per year in overseas remittances. The majority of that will come via Western Union, which isn’t cheap and requires the recipient to go to a WU outlet in person. As of September 7th, all 4.5m adults who download the government’s btc app will be given $30worth of btc. The first batch of 1,500 btc atms is on its way there, so recipients have the luxury of getting the remittances quickly, reliably and cheaply. They can use their wallet like a deposit account and spend / convert to cash at their leisure. The government will benefit from the money saved on fees going in to the economy instead.

Im not bothered about Saylor or whales either. Yes, it was stupid of lemming to jump on the bandwagon, then jump of a cliff because of EM’s tweets, but the bigger it gets, the better btc will react to any fud dished out. That fud will disappear very soon though, with financial institutions about to make shedloads of cash by selling it to hnwi.

So, I agree that things are changing fast.

Of course it increases prosperity. Someone working in a first world country can send Bitcoin to dependents in third world countries without rip-off charges by banks or time delays. There are more mobile phones in Africa than bank accounts, or fluching toilets, for that matter.

Harchris, btc is no different from any other thing in life. Someone will have trillions of dollars, some live on one dollar a day, some have none. Nobody blames the dollar for that. Some people have thousands of ABBA memorabilia m some have none. Facts we just have to live with.

I haven’t looked at BITF, but didn’t they have a placing to buy a whole load of miners? I think their debt last year was maybe $20m. I know they were loss making last year.

I’d love for Michael Saylor to buy on the open market. Shame he had to by his 13,005 at $37k+ over the counter. Another 13k shares bought on the open market would sink them.

Blonity saying ARB will have 5-7EXH at the end of 2022. I didn’t expect it to be as much as that.

The other snippet I got was that ARB bought 1,000 S17 miners for $950 each. Blonity says nearly $5,000 to buy today. Alex said on the presentation that they had bought miners at the back end of 2020, that they could sell for much more now. I guess that’s what they mean by smart growth. They saw a big opportunity and grabbed it.

I would think the US bitcoiners will really get the significance of the El Salvador news on making btc legal tender, being a lot closer to them than we are, plus the $30 giveaway will ensure maximum take up of the government app.

Also Paraguay. When they see how easy it was for El Salvador to get up and running, why would they NOT go for it as well?
