Shorts pushing this down - hold onto your shares

The FX issue is ultimately poor Risk Management. In essence the annual report of all big companies has a page on Strategic, Operational and Financial risks pertaining to the company.

Don't tell me FX volatility is not a risk in those pages. Because if it is then Management are not managing risk (something they are paid to do) oh wait they now have an effective hedging strategy. Only for the next update to read 'our hedging strategy doesn't work'.

It's not supposed to go above 70p before an update / announcement . So the answer is 'yes'.

I still put this at a £8-£9 takeover potential on resolution and successful outcome.

It's Friday it won't close above 88p today. Next week

I expect those cost savings they mentioned to come to fruition and hit the bottom line so definitely expecting this to go up. Equally, if the cost savings don't materialize my take on it would be that management can't save money or don't know how which means they are incompetent in running a business.

Hmmmm. Interesting view. I think there is much more to still happen here. This share is not for the faint hearted. However, given the circumstances, Management has done remarkably well in positioning GKP for the long term whatever the outcome maybe here. No debt is a big thing for GKP. This share is mixed into political ramble which is where the risk is with it. I also don't believe the political risk will ever disappear from here for as long as anyone is holding it. There will always be a high level of political risk attached to this share but well done to management on removing debt and communicating frequently with shareholders.

I agree. I've been burnt before here but couldn't resist during Covid-19 to dip back again. I just hope we get a takeover offer quickly once pipeline opens. That's my one big hope

Has anyone started spending their dividends for this year before they get announced. I've conservatively spent £7,700 assuming 20p dividend on my holding on a holiday to Mauritius this Christmas for me and the Mrs's.

Any management that only now decides on having an effective hedging strategy for FX fluctuations should not be getting anyone's money - totally incompetent company

Assuming pipeline opens. Pre closure this was paying good dividends but that was when oil prices were high.

Very disappointing. Poor results - hedging program to be put in place after the event. No foresight by Management in advance of these types of issues. Reactive measures.

This is not good news for them. CEO buying, dividends and buybacks to come will see this rise.
