“Wishing you a very happy new year. We’re working hard on capitalising on the current dynamic. It’s a good dynamic for us, and we’re doing everything we can to engage with the interested strategic investors to progress this as quickly as possible.”
Of those that received a response from FRRs legal reps, would it be worthwhile replying to them and asking if they can offer further details on a timeline for restructure. They surely must know ??!
Maybe some of you have already asked this but the more that do and the more pressure they feel, maybe a response will be given ??
I will email them also.
Is the FSG making any attempts to contact SN or ZM directly on indirectly (via lawyers) to seek some clarity on what going on ? Is this not what the group was established for ?
I previously asked AT about the re-costing and his response was this :
Just to let you know that the recosting exercise is not a condition of the investors. It is something that we initiated between ourselves and Glencore, because we felt it was important to make sure that any investor was aware of the current dynamics for pricing of the project.
This mentions "gas"
We left the areas where oil and gas are being extracted, the rest, beyond these areas, which was called the "exploration area", the government wanted to take us back. Exploration work should be carried out there, ie investments should be made. The license there does not belong to us, ”Zaza Mamulaishvili told BMG.
Let's not over think this - things are happening and it would seem all parties are in discussion - this is good news!!!! Cheer up Mole .
Well summarised Madp.....on all points!
AllTG - just for clarification - I asked Andrew specifically about the relationship with Glencore . He basically said that they are completely onboard and engaged. They are not blocking a route to a deal. They may play hardball on what deal they will accept but I guess that maybe a good thing??
The asset is worth ££s not pence. Today’s price is not an indication of what will be paid in a deal. IMHO
I don’t normally post - nothing much to say tbh !!!
However I did email AT and his response was :
Thank you for your comprehensive email and interest in the company. Needless to say it has been an incredibly challenging and frustrating time for us all, but with some major positive winds at the moment due to high iron ore prices and China’s strategic desire to seek ownership of non-Australian/Brazilian iron ore assets of significance – of which there are not many.
I would be happy to discuss the situation further with you but cannot do so until the interim results are released (tomorrow or Wednesday
It’s all a bit cloak and dagger, ifs and buts, maybes aye, maybes naw !!!
My confidence is diminishing- no definitive plans or timelines - we could still be at the table in 3 years time.
Thanks for the figures MP.
I think this is what many of us miss or in some cases dismiss - The potential value of our remaining 1% is not measured in millions but billions.
Add in its geopolitical importance and you can see why everyone wants a piece of it and will deploy dirty tactics to win.
Let’s just hope we are on the winning side !
If FRR own 1% of B12 - how much is that worth at market value ? I.e what would a SM pay for this asset ? MP?
You can then work backwards from there - monies owed and/or whoever is in line for a slice of the pie.
Maybe wishful thinking but I just can’t see FRR existing in Georgia after all this. Too many mistakes and too many bridges burned. I think they will sell what they have. It’s a question of how much it’s now worth???
Starman - has it ever crossed your mind that all parties concerned want a resolution to this......and one that may benefit all said parties. Lawyers are paid to find ways around the law and reach mutual agreements - that’s why they are paid so much. It’s in everyone’s best interest right now that some form of agreement is reached. Of course it may favour one side more than the other but none of us can confidently say what side holds the best hand.
I am, however, quietly confident some form of deal will be done and like MP said, this will remove any further need for court proceedings. I can’t see the benefit to anyone that this now drags on and on. No one wins!
You seem so desperate for all to fail for FRR that I struggle to know what your position is. You repeat yourself constantly to justify your stance and in all this time of saying the same stuff FRR are still alive and fighting to secure their asset and it’s associated value.
Your a bit like a well known US president - just keep repeating the same old sh@t hoping it might suddenly come true. We all know what the world thinks of him !!
Looed - I tend to agree with you.
I’ve tried numerous times to contact but zero response.
Using a Georgian contact maybe a route to poke Zaza into a response???
I understand his reluctance to divulge detail but I don’t I don’t accept he can’t relay a message via FSG to acknowledge our existence and ongoing patience.
I hear both sides but I remain unconvinced by the leaked doc.
For me it seems too coincidental that since the GD team came into power all the issue started. It also seems (but not backed up with hard evidence) that as soon as the technical Issues were resolved regarding geology and discussions moved on to commercialisation the roadblocks appeared in earnest. In other words when GD/GOC/Russia realised block 12 was a potential game changer, they stepped in and blocked it. This was done by any means - the Russian way!
At this point the US joined in and amongst other things used FRR as a leverage to drive change on political fronts - and here we are.
The questions that should be answered are :
Why has the US fully backed FRR if what they claim is false ?
Why were the Georgian Gov not willing to discuss a consortium?
Why was the termination not carried through ?
Why have all these issues happened after the dream team came into power ?
Why initiate an arbitration?
FRR have been shafted because of a geopolitical situation.
All the real issues stem from this and Russia was behind it all. This is why the US have used FRR as their gateway to exert pressure and influence change - its important to them and Europe.
Personally i wouldn’t believe a word that comes from the current government not its associated organisations - they play dirty!
Just my opinion of course
No more ramblings from me ??
ODR - excuse my ignorance with regards to the 152 page doc - I didn’t read it. I’m convinced it was a fake however I’d be interested to know what sensitive information is in it which FRR would not want published ? This is the crux of the matter which Zaza has made ref to many times - so if the is genuine then it must contain a lot of this sensitive data ??!
As I said - personally I think it’s an attempt to distort the truth and since it publication on lse has never been quoted or made visible anywhere else. That’s odd - don’t you think ?
Anyway - as per domfoks last message it’s heartening to heat talks are happening !!
"in the arbitration document it states that Zaza said all the kind of stuff he has now stated publicly about the GG blocking Frontera constantly. The committee requested evidence and Zaza didn't produce any. So it seems he has none as that would have been the place to produce it so that we could have 'won' the arbitration. So I wouldn't hold your breath that Zaza will produce anything now."
ODR - who said FRR didn't win the arbitration - the very same people who have blocked every attempt at FRR fully commercialising block 12? The same people who said they were terminating the contract but have now retracted on that. The same people who have refused to meet with FRR to discuss compromise and future planning?
Why are you believing these corrupt people? They have an agenda- and since 2013 they have tried their hardest to remove FRR from Georgia.
FRR are dealing with corruption at the highest level here - you need to be smart to win the long game......and it would appear Zaza is a clever cookie.
Excuse my spelling and grammar mistakes - phone message never produces perfect English - that said - us Scots make up our own words anyway ??
“So again I pose a simple question why would you not meet a consortium introduced by Frontera?
Is it because of malign oligarch influence per the GD are corrupt narrative?”
I think the obvious answer here is, and always has been since 2013, the government in power don’t want block 12 developed by and American company. We can only read between the lines here based on evidence provided through various media channels, but it’s clear that the block on finances, deals, contracts has been tactical by GOGC - they want FRR gone! We are dealing with very corrupt people here, backed by one of the most corrupt regimes in the world, so fair play or standard practice does not apply here Mole.
The very fact a consortium was in the midst of being created clearly indicates they had a commercial plan. This would have been implemented if the Government had wanted to support it. According to Zaza they didn’t even meet ??! Who ignores such a huge investment unless you are being manipulated.
I don’t see any other scenarios here regarding what FRR did or didn’t do - it would make no difference. They were stopped from full commercialisation because this It was a threat to Russia’s influence over Europe’s energy requirements.
I hope we see progress before the elections but I’m sceptical - the corruption runs deep and it appears they’ll say or do anything to prevent FRR from fully exploiting this large asset. October is too long far away.
I haven’t commented in a while – I don’t often do anyway but here’s my take on things now we’ve had some more indepth findings.
GOCG and Georgian government are corrupt – no debate in that. Their allegiance is with Russia – not Europe nor the US.
They have lied and deliberately been deceitful all through this process…..arbitration, contracts, media coverage, website. This is their style – much the same as we’ve seen both here in the UK and the US – lie and sound convincing and hopefully people will believe you – the more times you repeat the same lie, the more convincing its becomes – that’s the world we live in and it’s very much the Russian style influence. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “fake release” of the Arb was initiated by them.
However, I think they under estimated Zaza and the influence and backing he has within the US. I strongly believe the US are using FRR as a tool for driving change in Georgia. This is of significant geopolitical importance to the US and Europe.
So what can happen –
It looks like the arbitration results will be announced. Given the level of focus Zaza has put on the word “truth” I would be shocked and stunned if the arbitration result favoured GOCG in the manner they have insisted. Their bluff is about to be called! Personally I don’t think it will change anything with regards to FRR and future working relationships. Russia wants FRR out so the GOCG may try and find another angle to make this happen??
The key to success for FRR (and shareholders) is a new government – this is a must IMHO. However, Russia will try is hardest to keep the Dream Party in power – they will deploy their underhand tactics to achieve this – BUT hopefully this time – unlike the US presidency and Brexit – their attempts will fail. We have to pray this is the case.
It is obvious that the big players want into Block 12 in some shape or form -this has been made public by Zaza and is one of the reasons the release of the Arb has been delayed. Russia don’t want this….its threatens their stranglehold on Gas and energy supplies in Europe.
October is the key month for FRR. All the other stuff (courts cases, Hope/Outrider etc) is a bit of a side show and will be sorted if and when a new Gov is in place.
The US would not be actively using and supporting FRR to make political change only for the company go down the pan a few months later in some court case. Just doesn’t make sense.
Anyway – this is all just my opinion of course.
A big thanks to all who keep digging up some great info and translating into meaningful reading.
A final comment – more of a general observational one – its seems Russia and China play a very longterm strategic game – they are looking 10-20 years ahead. Everything they do has a strategic purpose - usually related to control, influence and power. The rest of the world are way behind in longterm strategic thinking.....sadly!
350 TCM of gas and 1.3 billion barrels of oil extractable and verified.
This is the basis of any discussion and deal between FRR - GOGC and other ??
What are the possible scenarios ?
Does this point back to the $10b deal that JR suggested was on the table ??
