I don't think it's wise to consider a drop in share price as an actual loss in your money. The ups and downs are normal ......... a temporary loss is immaterial for an investor who is investing, the temporary loss is material to the trader or the gambler.
I've a nice few quid invested in VRS and am "down" but I'm confident that it'll be "up" again in the near future. I've sold and bought back in at various times but I'm still "down" on my investment, but it's an investment so I'm not bothered.
For comparison, look at two extremely different stocks, Tesla and Coca Cola......... ups and downs.
