Yes I'm not defending him. To say 50 years is ludicrous. It might be that a world recession happens when Brexit is happening which could drag the UK with it. I'd say within 5 years max we will know... less if we had the right leaders.

But again, couldn't care less about the economic side. It's not going to be Armageddon, a hit for a while at the most then recovery and if we didn't have Remain dressed as Brexit we'd have control too. So it will be continuous political fighting until the elite are removed and the right wing implement what we voted for.

Whilst I sort of share your sentiment on Rees Mogg now, that was a devious play of words. He didn't say is "will" take 50 years. He said it "could" take 50 years... but of a difference... albeit both are obviously ridiculous.

Rees Mogg hasn't put action where his mouth is. None of the Conservatives have. The way they've acted after Treason May released her Remain dressed as Brexit plan has shown that.

The Conservatives are going to be punished hard by the electorate at the next general election. 50 years... that just proves he's backing off with his tail between his legs.

Well I could pretend I bought them. I'm normally a technical trader, and have done reasonably well. But if I'm honest nowhere near as good as the compounded returns of those UK smaller companies investment trusts.

So that's where the money's going next time there's a market slaughter... and leave it there for years.

Best way is to buy funds that have been decimated. Then if some companies fail you don't lose your shirt and the fund recovers to a big return. Investment trusts though, not unit trusts.

Yeah I think the upside is limited... even if the market starts rising for another year. When the stinker comes it's going to be big... and there's more overall returns in buying after a big drop than buying now and taking the big drop in my opinion.

They're not for the faint hearted though... but when they rise they rise big and often rapidly. You have to be willing to hold them for a long time though. And buy more than one, so you're diversified. But if you're relatively young I don't think the returns on them can be beaten reliably.

Biotech and Emerging markets occasionally beat them, but they lack continuity... especially Biotech that can sit for ages doing nothing then suddenly rocket up.

Depends on the market cap of the company. Small caps dropped 70% at one point mate... you could buy UK smaller companies Investment Trusts after a 70% drop, from their bottom to top they 10 bagged.

I'll be buying these up when it drops, saves me having to spend ages picking and trading my own stocks. Investment trusts are listed on the stock market, so there's no monthly fee for them, just the trading fee and management charges are taken from the fund... they've far better than unit trusts.

Most people don't know about them, or understand the difference.
