Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I've had an investment here since 2006. It's been a long road but it looks like down hill all the way from here. Well done to everyone who has hung in here. The future is bright, the future is Angle.
I get savaged by trolls and cavemen when I come on here, but I am passionate about Ecuador, so I ventured onto the board today. My friend in the ministry of non-renewable natural resources will have info on these matters soon and I will revert when he informs me about any new policy regarding exploration and mining concessions.
For me, the important thing is Lasso's attitude to illegal mining. One of the main reasons the general population of Ecuador are anti-mining is because they only have experience of the devastation wrought by illegal miners and the pollution of cyanide and mercury they leave in their wake. There is a perception that mining is 'dirty' and kills the environment. If Lasso can rid the country of the scourge of these criminals, and encourage modern 'clean' projects, it will go a along way to calming people's fears and reducing their opposition. Spending mining taxes on clean-ups with big advertising campaigns would also work well.
I use interactive investor (ii) as well. You can trade international shares and they are pretty efficient. They also tend to have access to shares in tight markets if you want to day trade. DYOR and good luck
Thebhoys, I've been a shareholder since the first days of Vane and lost shedloads of virtual money on here, but I never sold. having averaged down, I now have the genuine hope of recuperating some of my losses which I never thought I'd say. GLA and DYOR.
In the end, it is geology that drives a project. In my experience, (33 years in exploration) the vast majority of advanced projects which fail, do so because management have rushed the technical side. I know of several projects where the resource has been incorrectly calculated or the metallurgy badly understood leading to the construction of the wrong plant (size and type). While the delay in finalising the Feasability study is disappointing, I would rather they get it right first time than waste hundreds of millions on the wrong plan, possible sterilising some of the resource. For me, Solgold is a long hold. The days of quick profits are gone and patience is required. I bought more this morning on the drop. DYOR and WDIK
Fatbloke, apparently Captain Sir Tom Moore did not have the vaccine because he had pneumonia. they were waiting for him to get better to vaccinate him. Unfortunately he caught Covid as well.

2.9 ANNOUNCEMENT OF NUMBERS OF RELEVANT SECURITIES IN ISSUEWhen an offer period begins, the offeree company must announce, as soon as possible and in any case by 7.15 am on the next business day, details of all classes of relevant securities issued by the company, together with the numbers of such securities in issue. An offeror or publicly identified potential offeror must also announce the same details relating to its relevant securities as soon as possible and in any case by 7.15 am on the business day following any announcement identifying it as an offeror or potential offeror, unless it has stated that its offer is likely to be solely in cash
Mathersfinger, when you apply for a concession in Ecuador you are acquiring a right to explore or to mine a deposit. The ownership of the land is a separate issue. In order to be able to mine without problems as regarding access, crop destruction, rights of way, most companies purchase the land on which they want to mine from the owners. As I understand it, Solgold would be taking over ENSA 100% if they buy out CGP, that means they will own the exploration concession, not the land. CGP would lose their right to all 15% of ENSA (which holds the concession) if they don't pay their share. I'm not sure what the contract is but presumably they get diluted or get an NSR instead of shares.
I found this rather interesting article about Ecuador on LinkedIn. I remembered that several people asked me about the elections next year due to my twelve years working in the country. I have not lived there since 2013 but I thought this a good summary. DYOR.

Spinrock/Sound of Silence. Maybe that info was not supposed to be in the public domain? The agency didnt say it was confidential, and they asked me to send it to other geologists so I didn't think twice about sharing it. But perhaps they shouldnt have sent it until tomorrow? We'll know later tonight I guess. JJ
Spinrock, the app cut out as I was typing an answer, and now when I try and log in, it says my phone number has been banned and I cant get back in. So I sent an email asking why. No answer yet. JJ
