moratorium prevents any new fracking start ups ! when you have an idustry that is constantly exploring and discovering new strikes and phasing out the old a mopratorium will impact output. The US has lost 3 mil bpd oild and i cant find detais for gas but it has put the ball back into Opec+ hands and here we are. Peronally from a national security standpoint i think the uk should explore fracking, not to put into prodution but litterally to be there in the event of a country like france trying to hold us to ransom as they have threatened before, ditto russia and anyone else. Traditional oil wells can not be mothballed but fracking can be turn on and off at will. During trump the frackers could literally turn the taps off when oil and gas prices too low for a profit and back on again as soon as prices climbed. Biden has stopped fracking and so saudi and russia back in control again and we have fuel price inflation !!! Tun the tapds back on and prices will fall. Russian income will drop as will their beligerence.

all that needs to happen is for biden to turn on the fracking taps and subsidize them until russia withdraws from ukraine ! Energy prices world wide would tumble stimulating recovery,stifling infaltion and impoverishing Russia.
