Higher fuel prices dramatically reduce discretionary spending power, which stifles the money go round ! So if fuel dropped bellow a £ tomorrow direct tax would fall re fuel BUT the consumer would spend the rest elsewhere say a restaurant, the waiter would spend the extra wages at the gym , the gym staff at the cinema the cinema staff on a computer game and in and on and on and in and tax is collected with each transaction !!
Lower fuel Costs are way more useful to a service led economy than higher “, way way better !
