...that being said in discussions with sensible friends in low places we seem to be of the opinion that Russia has given China assurances about the timescale for this " special opperation" and in return China has agreed to A. not go public with its refusal to send Russia arms and B. To not condemn the Russian invasion providing the timescale is kept.
None of this is official but the logic is .. If China truly supported Russia they would have provided arms, if this war was going to drag on China could expect the western consumer to sooner or later start to avoid Wish and alibaba et al once the woke brigade turns its attention to China and the press gets behind it.
So for the time being China is planning for the end of the war and will ( we believe ) have gotten assurances from Russia that it will not be another long drawn out affair.
Mean nothing because its just speculation/discussion but have to say i concur fwiw not investment advice so caveats bla bla bla gla the end is ........ over there somewhere lol

The danger for a few Russia orientated companies like us, poly evraz etc is even when you are not in the sanctions firing line,SHOULD it transpire following a divi or a asset sale that an Oligarch has profited subsatntially from the divi or sale it would be problematic. Because declaration is X % there is a possibility/probablity or if you prefer " risk" that a company will come onto the radar accidentally. A thing to be pro actively avoided especially as the BOD would only know it had happened after the fact, when money pops up in a sanctioned bank account !!

no divi was a no brainer !! Divi would have allowed shorters to target the sp on ex d date, would have spent cash in uncertain financing climate And possibly presented logistical issues re making sure no sanctioned individual was inadvertantly helped to avoid sanctions !! paying divi now is juggling hand grenades, not big not clever and downright dangerous !! In my opinion ... yesterday decision was a good one, all the divi chasers are off there will be no x div date sell off for the shorters to " stimulate " further, the sp for the duration is the sp. when the sp was over a tenner the divi was a $ a year so 80p so a good % but par for the course >>>>> Once recovery is completed that same 80p divi equates to 33% ish of the current sp ...... Now the bigs BR et al are more than content in some cases with a solid 6/8% return on big money, its why they are becoming landlords in a big way. So when the sp recovers and the divi returns not only will they have a 4/5 bagger but they will also have a 30% ish return on capital outlay every year the company is in business !!! The only reason it down this low at all is the bigs are also greedy bar stewards and if you panic and allow it too they will hoover em up as low as you will go :) Like me just on a monumental scale lol Hold chill and add if your own personal research tells you too ! Imean we all like to see blue but if you are here because a comapny paying a regular $1 a year divi has lost 80% of it value and will recover to at least 70% of its previous sp within a month of a peace deal an resume thoase dividends then why the concern ??
