malcoa - i use atkinsons in sutton coldfield. really decent service and they don't charge to much over spot when you purchase and pay 99-100% if yiou sell them back. personally i store my own. when it all goes to **** i want them in my possession and not someone elses. just my personal choice

Probably not a debate for the Alba forum but interesting why we wait for news. I think if everyone paid 20% of everything over say £20,000pa they would collect more tax. I for one would pay myself more from the LTD company if I did not loses 40% of it. I would then spend that extra money creating an income for someone else and probably paying VAT on my purchases. We cannot tax ourselves out of poverty. If I earn £200,000 and get taxed on £180,000 at 20% I have paid £36000 in tax and have money to spend and help the economy. If you earn £50,000 and pay tax on £30,000 you have paid £6000 in tax. I have earnt more and paid more (rightly so) but I still feel I have kept enough of the money I have earnt. People do their best to avoid tax because they are taxed too much. 20% is fair, 40% is not. Just my opinion. The other issue is then how the money is wasted once it is collected........

Peas. Who knows perhaps they are. No problem paying tax I just don't think being wealthy should be something that is frowned upon. If Alba were to ever hit a £1.00 ( i know I am dreaming) lots of us would then be in the "wealthy" club. Having paid tax on the profits we should not then have to pay more tax to fund the continuos waste of the tax that that is already collected. Charity begins at home and one of the big issues of the UK is the "entitled" that think they can sit at home doing sweet FA why some of us work to allow them to do so.

I would rather support getting rid of the spongers and the takers that are given too much and contribute to little. Perhaps you are one of them

1oz gold brittanias is the way to go. anyone buying gold should make sure they have physical and not paper. when the proverbial happens and the **** hits the fan, which it will, you want your gold in your hand not on a promissory note.

Perhaps all those that have "paper gold" could ask for it to be delivered. That would fun :)

Jotom750 The UK is broken. All political parties are out for themselves and none of them represent the people they are supposed to. Any aspiring young person should be getting out. We along with most of the West are bankrupt. The NHS is a joke and not fit for purpose. It is a bottomless pit and the money poured into is wasted. There is no accountability. Anybody that aspires and tries to better themselves are villified and those don't or won't work are rewarded. Socialisim is a wonderful idea but who is paying for it. UK PLC is a race to the bottom. Rant Over :)
