Well that's isn't necessarily true. the Ultrafan geared turbine is due in 2025 for the next generation of narrow bodied aircraft which is what I assume you are referring to. however there is the interim Advance turbine in development to be due sooner (the one I assume arsenal is referring to) both of these are public knowledge. however the strategy and future on the Advance is unclear because there is not currently a narrow bodied aircraft that needs it. I am not convinced it will ever be seen on the A320 NEO or any successive version, despite that being the intended plane originally I believe. Also I would say that the fact that CFM and PW dominate the sector is the exact reason why it IS worth competing, after all that means that there is a bigger market share to target. Getting back to the original topic of the convo, the reason behind RR leaving the 2500 project I believe was largely regulatory as in the US authorities might have thought it anti-competitive but it has left their strategy and position in the narrow body market in a bit of a muddle. However, This is why I bought more shares recently. I think this all smells of a great opportunity. even if the advance engine is not successful and doesn't get an aircraft partnership I think its a great stepping stone to the Ultrafan which will open up RR to the huge (as you said ~70%) market of narrow body aircraft. I think RR will be very successful in this over the next 20 years. after all, 30 years ago their share of the wide body market was very poor and they turned that around in 20 years. this share is a retirement share for me, as in keep it until then!
'lets stick to the facts' - Arsenal 'i'm not childish' - Arsenal 'I am in a far better position to know' - Arsenal Interesting statements. what's more interesting is that you don't actually disagree with the facts I laid out, in fact I suspect we are in complete agreement. you just don't like any remote suggestion on here that you might have been wrong. you cant stand being told or being seen to be told can you? the irony is that in my initial post I was actually more correcting the first poster not you, but you decided to take it as a threat to your self perceived dominance here. there is someone like you on every board whose purpose is not to inform or help but merely to stroke their ego. it's a little sad. Oh and as for who is in the 'better position' you guessed wildly without the facts (I do love the contradictions in your posts) and guessed wrong. I am an aerospace engineer, I previously worked in RR R & D and spent time in the AR&O plant doing product familiarisation and the bloke next to me is an ex-RR engineer who actually worked for 2 years on the Trent 7000 until this summer, with whom I fact checked my posts before making them. But none of that really matters because as I said, you didn't actually disagree with my statements, you just felt threatened by them and had to lash out. amusing as your next rant will be I wont be replying again as the facts haven't been disputed and this is really a waste of time, so feel free to save some face by having the last word. make sure people know you are the boss and sign off with a fake laugh.
The Trent 7000 is a different engine for a different aircraft NEO. they are totally separate. So I am just clarifying for people who come to these boards and want to get actual information. I don't care who is right and wrong. stick to the facts, don't get childish and personal.
'Why do you think RR are bringing in the NEO' - Arsenal 'I never said it was an engine' - Arsenal So yeah. Anyway, the A320 is a narrow body aircraft so by me saying that they are developing an engine for it I am stating in factual terms that they are developing an engine for the narrow body market. which they are. what they are not developing, bringing in or in any other way making, is an NEO. The company developing the NEO is called Airbus. RR are developing the engine as ONE option (of three possible ones, from GE, PW and RR) FOR the NEO. just so everyone is clear.
There is some weird misunderstanding going on in here about their products. The NEO is not an engine, it is a variant of airbus 320 or 330 with a New Engine Option (NEO). For the 330 this is the Trent-7000 (due in the next couple of years) and for the 320 it is some engine in development whose name I forget (due a few years later). So the NEO cannot be 'used for narrow body aircraft' as it is just a generic term for new engine options on existing aircraft, not an actual product.
You do insist on assuming you know what other investors are doing when you don't. I have over 30 shares and only post on boards recently for a pair that have gone badly. both of those relatively small holdings. As for getting 'one over you' that is clearly what you are trying to do by looking up my posts to criticise them, so pls take your own advice. I have no interest in getting one over you, I was merely correcting your disinformation on a share that I own. I am here purely in search of value, I don't give a fig who you are or how far under me you are. so interesting self reflection there. And yes, since you insist on trying to discredit me, I have bought two risky shares that have gone badly. so what? I am not one of you kids who claims never to have made a mistake. I judged them to be positive value at the time with the information I had and was wrong. It happens. I cant audit every company I buy. I am sure you have never made a mistake, spelling or otherwise. either way, just. stop. there is no need for another troll here.
Well, that is that. I am pretty sure I know who the main creditor is and they will take what is left of the cash pile (if that even exists). Once all the lawyers and etc. have had their cuts I doubt there will be anything left.
No I didn't see your deleted post, what a shame, I am sure what ever spelling mistake you pointed out was seminal and key to my future prospects. what I did see is you have trawled through my previous posts and then followed me to another board, very odd behaviour (possibly against the rules although apparently not the first time today one of your posts has been against the rules), perhaps re-assess your objectives on being on these boards.
It's very telling how your only response to that post was to criticise spelling and say it somehow makes me untrustworthy. either way you spelled it Woodforde a few posts ago. I hope that irony amuses you as much as me. however you spell his name, you still have no idea what he is thinking. Either way if you had been following the share price closely you would have spotted it went to 206.5 today, so you missed your golden opportunity. presumably we are now on a downward slope to bankruptcy after that peak.
Um, no you aren't stating facts, you are mostly misrepresenting (or guessing) someone else's un-disclosed opinion. As the previous poster said, Woodward is not a trader and he is not going to be interested in selling quickly at this level in a growing business when it would mean a loss. that's just not how he operates. he will have been over the accounts, been satisfied that they are accurate and therefore the growth is real (he has stated this much publicly btw, this is not a guess from me) and thus selling now would be contrary to his usual form. However, if you want to sell and those are your reasons then fine, just don't invoke the major shareholder as somehow supporting your position when you actually have no clue what he is thinking. its silly.
Yes I don't understand how the auditors and cancoord failed to spot a fraud that some bloke in America found out with only publicly available knowledge. something has indeed gone horribly wrong for that to be the case. what is the point of auditors if they are less effective than a bloke with access to google?
Yeah my instincts were screaming buy, but like, it was such an obvious buying opportunity that I just thought I must be a trap because otherwise everyone else would be right? Anyway, its bounced up by ten points so I think the large order theory is correct, well spotted.
In the time it took me to write that, the share price crashed to 163 and still falling. Does anyone have a F$%£&(& clue what is going on? is this some sort of twisted fear of the dividend going up too much or something?
I'm sorry, share price crashing from 187 to 166 DURING ONE DAY, right after a very positive trading update? profit is up, the accounts are much clearer, everything is good. What the hell is going on with this messed up market? what do people know that we don't? after the Globo scandal I don't trust this at all. something smells really off here, there is nothing in the publicly avalible information to justify this over 10% drop in value.
You keep referring to all negative views as 'shorters'. this is either terribly naïve or deliberately disingenuous. Also, its fine to say 'I will wait until the audit report' etc. but then why intervene here with. in any case, obvious fraud is obvious. I don't need a forensic accountant to tell me that selling 10% of the total company shares for cash in the days leading up to the shares being suspended is a bent as a 5 bob note. Btw, I am not a shorter, I am ****ed off shareholder who has most certainly been mislead, defrauded and lost a chunk of money. the only thing the forensic report will determine is how much.
But who would value a small tech company with a history of fraud at a PE of 9.5? that's the value that Rolls Royce has, a huge multinational with an incredibly defensive buisiness
I have only just spotted that the utter scumbag sold most of his shares right before they were suspended. 42 million shares, 10% of the company up to October the 22nd. he KNEW what was about to happen and he cashed out before the news broke. I cannot believe the utter *&%&"£ who this guy is. trying to make money off this while his shareholders all get screwed by his fraud. this £$*&" "&££&%* better go to prison for this. In technical terms I believe shareholders can sue, in reality the big institutions will get all of whatever compensation is available and nothing will be left for us I imagine.
No, its not a fair share price. PE of 7.5 for a tech company, which has been confirmed to be at least partially fraudulent and is listed on AIM is NOT a fair share price at all. the 'rule' of good value being <10 PE is horribly misrepresented. that is true of a large and solid multinational in a semi risky/cyclical sector like mining. perhaps ~15 PE for a consumer blue chip company or similar. but even those rules are pretty terrible and generalist. a fair share price for Globo is likely to be in the region of a couple of pence. I expect a 80-90% drop when shares come online again. sadly.
So I posted on Friday saying 'this report is damming' because, well, it was. I have* (had?) shares in this company unfortunately and said so. I was immediately rounded on by some muppet who called me out as a 'shorter' just trying to ruin the company. The prevailing sentiment on this board for a a while has been that the only reason Globo has been going down has been due to evil shorter scum. now that it has been conclusively proved that is not the case, perhaps all you muppets who think shorters are some sort of evil sect determined to ruin your lives can learn from this and understand that if people are massively shorting a company, there is usually a good reason. merely attacking anyone who has a negative opinion is the height of stupidity.
S@it I don't know what to think. the two sides of this debate are so far apart its impossible to reconcile them and although the report is poorly written and clearly extremely biased and supposed to be an execution job to back up short positions I just cant dismiss some of the claims they make, they are too easy to refute if they are wrong. there are too many things where people defending them are saying 'this looks bad but'. auditors resigning, poor product reviews, dodgy accountancy techniques, junk bonds, low rated banks used, unusual supplier systems. even if you ignore the report it stretched credibility to believe there is nothing wrong going on here. I shall cross my fingers and wait until Monday to see how much value I have left in this. if this report is just totally made up then the guy who wrote it should be shot. its outrageous. if it wasn't made up then costis should be shot. either way, I hope someone goes down for this because there is no outcome I can see where someone hasn't been conducting themselves disgracefully and illegally.
