The inference is they have 73m of diamond core, if that started at 90m(?), then box 12 should be just on the money.

Look at the chart for CBE ASX who are 2-3 months ahead of KAV a few miles down the road, just gives an idea of the potential.

They just raised £3.5m from international investors, the ‘diamond’ money could easily invest in a LSE vehicle if it wanted. I’d be ecstatically happy if KAV demerged KSZ/Ditau to focus the London listing on KCB and any high net worth Botswanans are welcome.

At this point nobody knows how KSZ will pan out, could be a multi $bn discovery or low grade trash so keep all options open on KCB. My gut feel is they’ll find some Nickel in the B targets but I’m more sceptical about GRS because it will need world class grades at those depths & the exploration costs are astronomical.

I think KAV is particularly poor at capital allocation as the prospectus illustrates. 5 minutes ago captain calamity was talking about 37000m & 180 targets in KCB but the actual money earmarked for drilling is minimal.

The market normally reacts when deals complete as seen on Fri with POW.

I'm trying to look on the bright side to focus on the near term drilling. KAVs leadership and corporate governance stinks, the financial raise at the bottom of the market was un-necessary and I still don't think Turney has a grip of risk management, corporate strategy and most important capital allocation, for example they want to sink 500k (a 2000m drill) into the GRS but this is expensive & highly risky, not least because it requires very good grades to make the project commercially viable.

Very little was said about the KCB and the boy wonder still wants to float on the BSE....IMO a stupid monumental mistake. The risk to reward ratio is much much better than Ditau or KSZ and I really cannot understand why KAV doesn't focus its activities and cash on the KCB.

Let's focus on the positives, on 15th Nov hole 5 (northern section) was 90m, utilising diamond tails and moving to a double shift, that means 30-50m per day assuming good drilling conditions. The limited core photo on twitter looked solid, and had evidence of quartz veining and potentially other mineralisation. There's been very little information about the northern zone but if analogous to Central the high grade target zone will be 150-300m. This suggests they'll hit the upper parts of the target on Friday but won't finish hole 5 until Mon/Tues, just depends on what they find. Similar geology suggests the copper grades are modest 0.6% in the upper zones and up to 6-9% in the lower zones averaging out to 1.0-1.3% Cu, anything less is basically a duster in this prolific copper region. Khoemacau hold the other Banana Zone and have drilled c1000 holes, but their mining is focussed on Zone5 2% Cu however they are revisiting Banana Zone looking for high grades and there's an argument to say set the cut off at 0.8-1.0% Cu and just concentrate on the high grade deposits if the strike is long or deep enough.

I can easily see the current drill campaign taking another 3 weeks but there should be a steady stream of news during that time.

Nice find. Chairman has gone to Canada to check the cores so logically you'd think they'll update the market quite soon.

The 150m RC was probably the central zone, think hole 5 is northern zone so could be different depth

Market needs to wake up, its all about the D'Kar/Ngwako Pan contact zone. The core has quartz and other mineralisation and it looks solid so good drilling conditions, that means they are 1-3 days from the contact zone (remember year of discovery!)

Give it a rest. The Chairman has flown out to Canada so something is definitely up, lets see what happens this week.

Levi is correct on the basis of the RNS.
Although:
1) The core boxes generally hold 3 cores each 1.5m so 4.5m. The photo resolutions weren't great but suggested in the region 1200-1500m of core.
2) There were two crews and perhaps they started before the RNS was issued. Darren has posted twice on twitter recently when the information was old. Think the underlying strategy is to buy time and get ahead of the game.

If they find zones of 10% chalcopyrite (as per Cobre, as per Sandfire, as per Khumn.....) at the current drills on PL082 then very nicely thank you as the central zone alone was 27km long plus another 7km(?) for the northern section. The actual copper grades will take a couple of months but investors will know pretty quickly if its good.

People seem to forget it's not called the KCB for no reason.

I've averaged down recently and are torn between pointing out Darrens inadequacies and talking up the prospects because both are true.

Immensely frustrated with the Obonga comms and that lies fairly & squarely with the CEO.

Awkward or Wishbone can be company makers and that is the gamble.

I agreed with everything you say.

The share price was deliberately suppressed on Tuesday and Darren is giving nothing away today which is kind of difficult to sell to existing and prospective investors.

Earlier in the year, the company didn't handle the Wishbone assays very well and I guess they want a moment of reflection to analyse results and decide next steps.

It’s all about the assets and cash. IMO the problem is overly ambitious management who can’t focus or stick to the basics & think their role is to constantly make the next pitch or next corporate deal or think they can do a couple of drills and flip the asset for a fortune. When times are good that style of management get away with it.

Some basic maths suggests they've gone deep with the Awkward drill

Anyone noticed the trading patterns over the last week and the last two days.

Price was pushed upwards from 4.6 on virtually no volume.

SP should have reacted yesterday to those core photos and there was buyside volume but there are predictable sells between £1000 & £2000 blocks. Its not shorting and its not clear why someone would be offloading and at a very slow pace. Both the sizes & timings of the sells look designed to hold the share price at current levels, why?

With a bit more information from Darren this could be very exciting.

They're drilling an igneous (volcanic) intrusive (in effect a very large pipe) which is at or very near surface if they hit within a 50m drill. That has immediate commercial benefits, means lower grade are viable. Nickel is being mentioned although Lac Des Iles is famous for Palladium.

If this initial (shallow?) drill is promising (the guys have XRF & magnifying glasses) then they need to go all out with a 500-600m second drill.

I'd say the portfolio is focussed and as BCB says a discovery at any of the targets will be transformational, also the MCAP is largely covered by the investments. KAV in comparison has 3 dozen separate targets and is issuing shares like confetti and the CEO has 'baggage'. I wouldn't say its make or break for either POW or KAV but they are both betting the MCAP on multiple discoveries in the next 1-6 months. I'm heavily invested in both and are hoping for news before Christmas.
