Start at the beginning and don't avoid. Focus on reality not feelings, be succinct. I respect you can have opinions, but stick to facts. Blair wasn't around in the 70s nor 80s. M. Thatcher de-Industrialised , it is just a fact.

As for BoE. Honestly, it's simple to understand so i am not sure why you do not. It was given independence so it could set rates and not the government of the time. That is the opposite of polisitised.

I don't know Whitby...But the fishing industry in the UK was already in decline again finding its roots much earlier. Similar in Germany out of Kiel / Bremhaven etca, although fishing industry wasn't in the same league as UK.

On Brexit. The UK will be back, The EU is going nowhere. The attempt to divide it worked initially (Brexit) was a nationalistic agenda, but the British failure to specify prior, meant it didn't know what to deliver. There was a version of Brexit for every day of the week. And ultimately, the British gave it a chance. Mainly the Older Generation. But as time passes its clear to everyone that its been a failure. There is no better version. End of day, Europe is, Together stronger !

On the point regarding The Army. I challenge you to come up with why? Who did what (policy), when they did it, and the reasons they gave and who supported it. The UK, across Europe and US at that time was considered a bit mad and yes, a laughing stock.

If you actually study what he said...All of it from the opening you'd know he changed his stance. Stick to facts not feelings.

Rubio did talk about a limited time window / growing threat, but it wasn’t a clear-cut “we had 18 months or it’s over” in the way you articulated it.

In fact, the broader messaging from him and him/the administration has been more mixed Initially, the line was that Israel acted independently and the US wasn’t directly involved > shifting to saying the US knew Israel was going to strike and acted early because they expected retaliation

And later justification leaned on an “imminent threat” scenario, particularly tied to what Iran might do next, rather than a fixed countdown clock

So the “18 months” point is more of a framing argument, not an agreed intelligence dead-line.
