Well, Monzo just went down for a few hours when I needed to pay for something and on the bright side, I used Tally and it went straight through...
Hi Stix
I'm still alive haha.. I don't read the boards much at the moment, got a few other things taking my attention (not share related).
I've not much to say or comment at the moment, I'm still waiting for this buggy app to get sorted out, I don't even talk about tally with people as it usually starts with them saying something like "why is the app doing this or not doing that" and "I can't this or that" can't be doing with it at he moment. Damon did share the page with some nice and interesting things coming and I did have a face to face chat over the phone a couple of weeks before the page was made public, he came across as a decent guy and is chomping at the bit to get these and other features etc into the app, he was enthusiastic and excited at the challenge, he is also extremely frustrated and, i think a bit disappointed and embarrassed about the situation with it, which apparently is more to do with a third party, but that's not really relevant as far as users are concerned.
I'm still interested but as I say, I don't talk about it and while it's in this state I don't promote it either as it would be a huge disappointment to a new user and they would simply delete it, bettee to wait until its usable so they stick with it.
I'm assuming fundraising was waiting for the app to be updated with more features and stability for greater number of users... This version is currently worse than the first beta release.
No change
Update in store... fingers crossed.
I asked about the update last week and Damon replied "we’re pushing to release early next week. There are some other little gems in there with more on the way"
So this week.
Narcissistic personality disorder
Overview
Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.
A narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of life, such as relationships, work, school or financial affairs. People with narcissistic personality disorder may be generally unhappy and disappointed when they're not given the special favors or admiration they believe they deserve. They may find their relationships unfulfilling, and others may not enjoy being around them.
Treatment for narcissistic personality disorder centers around talk therapy (psychotherapy).
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office
At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:
Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special treatment
Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation
Haha, love the new marketing, different to the norm and will be remembered and make an impact.
All looking very slick and going in the right direction, they're doing some good stuff behind the scenes.
Looking forward to pages of negativity relating to it, for another chuckle ;-D
Apple, I can honestly say i am sorry to hear about what happened, i remember reading about it. It's horrible when we lose someone close, most of us have been through it and I wouldn't wish it on anyone under any circumstances.
We all have money tied up here, I have more than you, I appreciate people are frustrated and angry if they tried to make a quick buck and got stuck in here, none of us expected it to happen or we'd have all pulled out.
A lot of people say a lot of things on here, sometimes they are misinterpreted, like how I interpreted your words as some kind of threat. Maybe we should all calm down and watch what we say.
I'm defending the company because I dont want to see the app closed down as it's a great product which is still in its infancy.
My angle is I have invested my money into it.
apple
You seem to have a contradictory attitude, you are socialistic wherein you don't think people that make an effort to build a business and create jobs that pay wages so people can have a life should profit from this, yet you are also a capitalist, where you are happy to buy shares in a company, hoping to make a profit when the company grows and makes a profit therefore increasing the value of the business and shares??
I've aired my frustrations about this numerous times, over the years regarding different aspects,
that's no secret. Relisting will happend when and if it happens. The FCA will have no bearing on this and cannot force of speed up the process, it has nothing to do with them. If tally are intent on relisting they will have to be regulatory compliant in order to do so, if they don't intend to do so then it doesn't matter to them, either way the FCA arent going to get your shares listed or your money back, they will simply do what they do and that will cause more delays. So from this point, you can at least take some credit for extending the time it takes to list as every second and every £ spent dealing with them, is time and money not spent focusing on the goal we are all waiting for.
Regarding the salary and shares...
As far as I'm aware, he pays himself a salary, he pays tax on the salary and keeps the remaining amount for himself the same as we all do.
It appears what has actually happened is, Cameron has taken a salary, and with that salary he buys back shares in said company.
Could he have taken less salary in the first place, obviously but it's not tax efficient.
Could he have not used his money and bought back shares in the company, obviously but the funding helps build the company.
What we have is a director that has paid himself a salary, paid the taxman and with what's left he has some to spend and the rest in shares. If the company goes belly up those shares are worthless and hes lost out.
Why would he buy shares in a company he is actively trying to scam, rob, defraud, kill off, never relist, never grow, never want to succeed ?
I think the whole scenario being created about this being a scam is flawed and those in the driving seat of this scenario are the ones with ulterior motives and some are being sucked into it because they are frustrated about the delays. It's no different to religion.
So basically, you're simply putting your frustrations down again. Do you expect the FCA to provide them with an interest free loan for a couple of million to push this forward or to provide them with free, experienced labour to complete the process?
I'm not asking for more waffle and opinion, I'm simply asking for what you expect the FCA to achieve? Other than to bog them down with more paperwork
Apologies aren’t needed, we’ve all, including me, been pulling our hair out with frustration at times over this.
When I do, I have to keep myself looking at the bigger picture, anyone who’s started a business will know how hard it is and even with the smallest and most simple business there is untold work to do in the background before even dealing with customers. Even with the best will in the world most business fail and that’s with the people that were willing to take the risk and try in the first place, most people would never take the risk of even trying. It’s far easier to go to work, take a salary and not have to think about anything.
The easiest job in the world is to be a critic, there are industries built on criticizing others, anyone can criticize anything if they wanted to and critics even criticize other critics, not anyone could work for themselves or build a business from scratch.
I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of planning, legal issues, regulatory hurdles, financial issues, coding problems, design, integration with and reliance on third parties, customer service, delays caused by other parties out of control of the company, ensuring the product works on all the different devices etc. etc. involved in a new product of this type.
Most of the foundations have been built and it’s the foundations that matter, I look at it as we are on the final stretch now, a bit more patience and this will be ready for bigger numbers of users with crowdfunding and marketing, after the product is gaining in usage and value it’ll be listed again, hopefully with the company showing a higher value because of all the work and the great product.
In the meantime, after all the work that has been done from nothing to where it is now, the product works great as does what it should.
Yea, it’s raining outside…. But the sun will be back out at some point. (hopefully)
I write how I talk and act on here the same way I act in life, I am open to all points of view and enjoy discussing opposing views on all subjects in life with various people.
Irrespective of views, just imagine us all sitting around a table having a beer discussing the company and product, I would agree with a lot of the negativity and shortcomings of the company, I'm not 100% positive on everything to do with it.
What I would say though, if someone was shouting and screaming and laughing like a nutcase at someone because they didn't agree with them or they were so arrogant and narcissistic they think everyone should believe and listen to everything they say and only them... I'm pretty sure even the negative people at the table would be giving them a sideways glance and wouldn't want to share a beer with them again.
You have to wonder what people are really like in reality compared to how they are online... If they are so different, then why is that and if they're not, would you actually give then the time of day?
They are waiting in a response from KPMG which they expect very soon, I said they need to shift the the trust issue as a lot of people dont trust the small company and a few dont trust him, it need the trust issue removing away from the company to a bigger more established company, such as KPMG or a well established company of solicitors that have seen the gold audits and proof and are happy to put their name to the fact is us all there and above board...
And yes, I did mention ponzi scheme during the chat.
We all have to evaluate risk...
If they say they have the gold there and they dont, and i deposit £10,000 and after a 10% rise in gold withdraw my, now £11,000 then they lose £1000. Not a very profitable scam.
Not stir stix* :-)
