PJ I am of course, been following Avacta since before the LFTs were a twinkle in AS eye. I'm winding him up (clearly badly). Annoys me when people try to rationalise guesses after the fact - no one could have foreseen the events that led to today with any great accuracy.
Well said mumbo jumbo it's a shame fools get their heads lost and don't read RNS'. Omicron was written in bold for anyone who wasn't so lazy.
As an aside, when do you think the next variant is coming around and how bad is it going to be? What impact is it going to have on extant tests' sens&spec?
I believe so. We know it's not the affimer that has failed so odd to mention leveraging the Affimer platform to rectify if not replacig mab.
We have a perfect A/B demonstration of the Affimer working where the antibody fails - unfortunately it presents us with an inherent bottleneck! Really hoping they are using this to replace all mab with affimers.
My only gripe is, if it still works as is and comparably or better than competitors, could we not have kept up sales and then presented this tweak as an improvement? All I can think is 1 reputation at risk 2 off chance FDA have asked for this upfront but that is perhaps wishful thinking.
The previous page hadn't rendered the alpha character, as in FAPa, correctly. See here:

For future reference, use above to see changes. If you select all and paste both old and new into the below it's easy to see.

"Sahamamy 3,000 tpa plant achieves 57% operating margins, up from 48% in the previous year.
· Vatomina 9,000 tpa plant commissioned in September 2021, production now ramping up to full capacity.
· Construction activities for second 18,000 tpa module at Sahamamy underway which will uplift production capacity to 30,000 tpa by Q1/Q2 2022, 10x from the previous year that is set to grow to 84,000 tpa by 2024."
Your figure is based off the first line only, and above is only the extraction side of business. Any future revenues from downstream activities remain to be seen.
Whether or not that justifies current cap I'll leave it to you but it's more than just 1m of revenue.
Levein is DoF at some no mark Highland team. If AS describing this as elite sports...well perhaps there'll be a test for whatever illness that is.
I did notice they were following him and found it interesting nonetheless. Perhaps he has an advisory role for Scottish football more broadly? Perhap whoever runs the Twitter is a big fan. Perhaps his wife works there who knows. Wouldn't count on it being much without more to go on.
Hopefully it will focus a few minds as to practical and relatively low capex alternative alternatives. Bridging sources, especially those utilising existing infrastructure, have a key role to play but may not appear as sexy. Trust the company will hammer this home.
Do we want elevated prices whilst buybacks ongoing? (up to EOY). Brave face time.
Quite right. If a few weeks ago somebody had offered you £1.50 for your shares you'd have laughed them away, so why are some tempted now? Nothing has otherwise changed.
Off topic - can anyone recommend me some sturdy boots? Preferably made in Britain. Seem to have filled mine.
The non-gov market opportunity isn't DTC. There'll be plenty of businesses wanting/needing tests - entertainment, travel, hospitality, sports etc. So whether or not individuals will be likely to buy tests isn't the critical point.
Am I being blindly optimistic or can we actually consider this a positive, or at least an explanatory neutral. There's been a delay, if the email is true then the delay is perfectly explained by **** poor administration. Not a great outcome but I can think of worse reasons!
Facts that remain unchanged by this "leak":
We have a test
It's very good
No sign of demand subsiding
Comes at a good time with copper demand outstripping supply. Goldman declared it the new oil recently ahead of anticipated climate and infrastructure booms. More likely to find parties looking for alternatives (never mind improvements!) I would think.
