Thanks Ice and Poker - nice interesting discussion with some great points, different though they are, but also nice to see it not descending into any sort of name calling tit for tat that one or two have entered into in the not too distant past.

Unfortunately the whole situation is pretty much just stabbing around in the dark for us PI's, and even though reported to FCA and Takeover Panel previously, I have no faith, in the FCA particularly, to do anything meaningful within their particular remits.

Goof sensible post Wyndrum. Agree entirely, and my take is that Yes,the accounts are worse than expected hence why the board are 'minded to recommend' -can't see any other reasonable interpretation.

Another example of a company/BOD being added to the annals of history for a right royal shafting of PI's.

The way PI's are treated in the corporate world is absolutely shameful, especially when Govt after Govt. have tried to encourage small private investors to invest in UK PLC, and still doing so as we write!

Sorry for the guys/gals whose averages are way above 30p, (my av. is 24p), which goes some way, (very little) to mitigate.

Worse thing is, situation may not even yet be over - shenanigans may see all of us lose out, who the 'eff knows!

Thanks for that Bob - doesn't sound a great place to be at the moment. Kinda hoping for the 35p now, will come out of that with small profit, but shame all round, (and shameful!)

Up front straightaway - I have NO interest whatsoever in THG, I am not invested, but I can tell you one thing that I do know - in Beauty division they are making very large layoffs. Out of 73 posts, 53 are being made redundant.

What effect that has on profitabilty I haven't a clue, don't even want to enter discussion, but info is given only because I have had 2 investments in the past year or so which have gone south mainly because of lack of information open to us small PI's (they are PFC and now John Wood Group).

Fed up with us PI's being screwed at expense of Boards of Directors etc.

Make what you will of the information, I really don't care.

Read only at mo, rarely at that, can't help but agree Bob.

Nice to have some inside commentary from yourself.

Pokerchips is also one of the few posters on here who offers balanced and reasoned argument, as he did on PFC board. without all the egotistical crap of, well, we all know who, especially our wannabee 'soothsayer' but in reality 'hindsight' merchant.

I'm sure Wood group will make better job of it than PFC did, and leave Saipem ,PFC and Samsung struggling with their court battles and claims with Thai Oil Co.

What assertions are you referring to?

I stated clearly this wasn't Wood Group, and from various posting histories it is apparent that a number of posters are previous holders of PFC. I thought it might be of some interest not only to them but also some other posters on here who have questioned, however legitimately. the veracity of various statements that have emanated from WG in the fairly recent past.

Now that we're in this waiting period on this board, it demonstrates how WG also have to be very careful of what info. they release , or don't release in their RNS's and disclosures, to which a number of posters have previously referred to, that's all, nothing else, nothing to get vitriolic about.

Just for info. and based only on this subject heading, loosely as NOT Wood Group, but I just received today the following email from a previous Portfolio Manager called Transact, and interesting all the same in regards to being accountable:

“ Shareholders who have purchased shares in Petrofac between 7th October 2005 and 5th October 2021 have been advised that they may be eligible to make a claim in respect of misleading statements and/or dishonest omissions or delays alleged to have been made in the group's published information”

“ For further details, please see the attached documentation. Should you wish to pursue a claim Transact can provide you with any relevant information that you require” end.

Won’t get too excited ‘cos I believe the claim amounts payed out are derisory !

However, WG watch out that all the info provided to shareholders has been pukka gen!
