Yo-yoing again. Anyone in PMG -I've beenm looking at PMG over the pas few weeks. Don't know too much about the company apart from TC taking up his post. I'm wondering if there is a hot air premium in the SP or if it will continue to soar. The SP increase over the past month has been impressive - Doors and Stable spring this small PI's mind!

How come SP is going up and yet SELLs far outstrip BUYS - I thought spread would have to be a lot tighter around mid price for SELLS to be confused with BUYS and vice versa? .... not that I'm complaining about SP though -glad to see it bouncing back - I just hope its not a dead cat!!!

Hi, I'm a newbbie to this BB. I've held BAE for bloody ages - bought when they were about 420p so I'm about 30% down and have been for years. Just got intersted in investing for LT rather than keep spare cash in the bank. Not sure what to do with my holding - only 400 shares - any advice on holding for LT (i.e. years) or baling out and shoving the proceeds somewhere else.

Thanks for the comment on GKP - I'm dithering on GKP. However, as far as my holding with FPM is concerned, I'm back in blue territory with a decent margin - provided they don't hit any anorexic hydrocarbon bearing formations!

I'm investing for medium long term - don't have the knowledge/experience to do short term trades although it is good fun getting to watch/know certain stocks - might have a go once I'm more confident about my SP predictions and have built up a slush fund to play with!!!

I took a look at BMR - 5 year performance looks OK but to my peasant's eye, when I look at fundamentals the company hasn't made any money, then again way back in college when I sat an accountancy exam I scored 0% - not even a mark for writing my name so I am not too sure I would trust my interpretation of company fundamentals !!! Down to my lastfew hundred squid to play with so will keep an eye on BMR for a while - bought heavily into FPM, topped up with CNE and have had a punt with SOLG - not too keen on investing my 'broken leg' fund just yet . Mind you GKP does look tempting !

This SP is certainly making a hole in nest egg!!! The verb 'to tank' springs to mind!!!

Thanks for the BMR tip - I'll take a look. I'm tempted by GKP but fear I the moment I press 'buy' the SP will drop back - I need to do some more reserach on GKP but feel I may have missed the boat

I watched this one for a while before getting in at 170p so missed out on recent gains - however I do think this has long term potential although I do get annoyed when I see SP fall below purchase price. I'm going to hold - hopefully any short term pain will be absorbed by my high hopes with CNE - oh well - time to remind myself that this amatuer investing is a long term strategy!

Thanks for the reply! Think I'll just stick with FPM andf CNE and see what happens! probably missed the boat with Parmlemead Grp - then again I had no idea what it was until it showed up on this BB

I'm wondering how a company valued at £43M (much of that value has arisen from a sharp spike in SP recently) could take over FPM which has a value of £350M? . Given FPM have deep water expertise, wouldn't a larger company like CNE be more likely to take over FPM. Apologies if Q is niave - I'm a novice that got lucky with CNE and Emerald Energy some years ago and fancied a punt with FPM. Cheers.
