Lem.....read your figs over on Gkp. Blimey your confusing me... a nos addict! That's way too much info for the average pis, you just cannot assimilate or make sense of the sheer vol of nos you come up with and once they blur into the ether your nos become meaningless or in most cases one fast forwards. But heh...keep it simple for us dullards who generally like 'easy bites' of info, we can understand.

I'm ignoring sp moves up or down It's immaterial to me what the mrkt thinks of the stock in the short term. Its way to much of a stretch for them to value Idea a day, week or month from now. That's ok by me. Focus on the nos, the rate of new contract wins the conversion rate etc...look 2 years down the line and if you think the sp is c.130--140 best sell now. I dont. I'd be adding. Only concern is when everybody thinks this is a cert....it probably aint. So factor in a healthy dose of scepticism that Idea can cont churning out the plus nos. Do that allied to the actual nos you wont go far wrong.

Did we just win the World Cup?

Russia reportedly wants an extra 1.6mbopd as internal wrangling among OPEC members continues. This will threaten to derail the recovery from its deepest ever downturn. Oil hit a low of $72 as traders priced in a 1mbopd increase for the next 18 months when demand is typically high helped by some of the fastest growth rates in the world economy since the last financial crisis. Anything that impacts on Chinas energy hungry economy and need for oil especially from US shale currently running at c.300kbopd in Q1 would not be good for the US as China could secure supplies of a similar quality to US crude fom W.Africa. The US would struggle to replace a mrkt as large as China. As ever oil mrkts are dangerous territory for investors. Goldman those 'ever bulls' of oil still see $80 in H2 as declines in inventories become apparent and a semblance of sense continues among OPEC members & Russia.

Good day for Idea yesterday...out of the blue vols and bargains improved significantly (1.7m / 43 trades). Two large 700k trades at 130 look to have been on the buy side which kicked the sp to a closing high, even the sluggish t350 added 8 while Sage (-5) and Mfocus (+26) we're noted. US mrkts are called over 200 lower at the bell, London off 30+.

A severe case of delayed shock hit Asia this morning. Stocks tumbling on Trumps latest $200bn tarriff on Chinese goods. Shanghai hit the hardest is down c.90 (3%) while Tokyo (-360) & HK (-660) both c.2%. London and N.Y were both off but losses pared back at close were small, Lon (-3) N.Y.(-103). Apple's CEO was reportedly told by Trump that his Co would be exempted from any tax on imported i phones. Traders in Asia see things differently and clobbered i phone component makers. London and N.Y. to catch up on the bad tariff vibes today both called lower, London (-30+) and N.Y (-200+). Oil $74.86 (-60c). Morning all.

Lots of solid buys at 130 pushed Idea up 2 on the week, Sage losing c.1.50% and Mfocus -0.52%. The other wks nos. Nsdq gave up just 15 on Fri but closed 1.30% on the week and the t350 gained 0.49% the TM100 +0.25%.

Duff closes all round the mrkts on Fri. Oil off $3 on the week, the ftse (-50) the Dow (- 227). Tokyo gained 158, Shanghai lost 45 and HK fell c.600 points. So a mixed picture with no clear direction. US rate rises were well flagged and China import taxes have not fully unwound. G had a bad wk the third on the spin closing 18 lower and 28 off recent high close 292 a month ago. We have had many good up weeks so it's par for the course to run into a few down ones. Meanwhile even at $70 we're filling our coffers and fcf might nudge $200m at years end. Consider our mrkt cap of c.£740m and re-read the prev para.....amazing. Then factor in we might be debt free to boot and still nobody loves us! With nos like 71p of fcf or c.10% of mrkt cap is free cash....wow! Go look elsewhere for nos like that. Ring me soonest if you find a Co throwing off those 'type nos'. Enough of the commercial -- none of you G regulars need a lesson from me, i'll leave that for H & his 'reasons to be'.... Difficult to believe that with the vol of buy trades last couple of days the sp has hardly budged. That's difficult to get your head around. However there are competing agendas at play.... none of which have our interests at heart. Unpalatable as this sounds I know this from long suffering experi- ence on the London mrkt...(don't get me started) that it's no place for the pis outside of the 50 year passive blue chip investor who has long forgotten he held Shell, BMX and Bass Charington etc...only to wake up and find he's worth a small fortune and says thank you very much. Wether lth will repeat those huge gains, who knows given the churning of portfolios nowdays. I'd think not. A week maybe a long time in politics but it's ages in the stock market.

A good day for shorters to earn a crumb or two.....they have been starved of late, as if igaf! Someone somewhere always turns a coin...

Oil $75.88 and May av OP $77 v $52 last year. London stocks performed well... all sectors up on ECB rates news (staying pat) didn't spill over to the Dow (-26) yet the S&P and Nsdq (new record close) both gained on the session. Asia generally lower (Tokyo up) on Trumps approval of a $50bn hit on Chinese goods. Some wag commented " the cloud has been lifted....some cloud. We await Chinas response and the Japan Central Bank moves on rates today. G still down 5 on wk after a 6 fall on wk 23. If i remember right tiger at 283 / snapdog 287 (Friday Club) look to be the only runners left in the race. Morning all.

Couple of good cash trades valued at £163k late on and only 1 trade on the sell side took the sp 1 lower....as it would. Idea been stuck in this 120-130 band for a month now as news of expanding the business via new contract wins does little for the sp. If the mrkt chooses to ignore the obvious benefits so be it. We do not need to. Sage u/c & Mfocus +14, the tech 350 added a % point and in N.Y the Nsdq posted another closing high yesterday topping out at (7761).

Seems consensus of opinion from other BBs that Idea is boring, slow and predictable the complete antithesis of a 'go go' tech stock. Well...that'll do for me. Methinks the 10 yr numbers graph tells you that this ai'nt no blue sky mining stock which crashes and burns after a few stellar years! Blimey this could be a boring Utility if I didn't know better. Best of both worlds...solid management and great longterm prospects in a worldwide growing mrkt place. You need to look 5 years down the line with obvious 2 year pauses to reconsider if Idea is bringing home the bacon in terms of nos of rashers and sp cost.
