Finally after nigh on 3 years dumped the last of my soft commodity stock taking a 20% hit which hurt. That now leaves me with PAT and a joint in an African agri business. So have a few quid to invest here which I would like to average up instead of down for a change. My target is for a 50,000 holding. Much depends on the next bit of news flow as to which way the shares go, so will sit and wait events.
As has been the trend of late sellers outpacing buyers by quite some margin. Week to date c.78,100 traded with just 3420 buys. Shares holding up well but new buying interest needs a reason to invest here as the 'speculative' money has disappeared for the moment.
No doubt should the drill news be positive the bandwagon jumpers will flood back, fine by me, so let the news flow.....
I'm out. I see little point in being invested in a Co being bled dry by a Govt hell bent on their expansionistic ambitions for their biofuel program. With a crippling 34% tax is it any wonder cost of sales amounting to c.80% of revenues make it nigh on impossible for indedted plantation companies to turn a profit. Another one in the loser column of JL picks. Good luck to all those still holding.
In a research note RHB Research said Plantation stock prices have been hit by a combination of high export taxes, downside risk to Cpo in Q2/Q3 and environmental concerns. These 3 factors have kept plantation prices from performing in tandem to booming Cpo prices.
They expect the high export levy to cap prices in Indonesia at RM2700 to RM 2800 and as share prices react more to the downside in Cpo than upward movements, they think share prices will remain flat and keep investors away from the sector.
However they have raised earnings forecasts for the stocks they cover by c.21% for this year and between 4%-10% in 2022/3. Their top picks among Malaysian stocks are KLK & IJM.

Have had some log in problems, resolved now. Heh guys... enuff about me and my postings! VF seems most concerned, isn't there a delete button somewhere so you don't have to read all my negative posts? Positively my last mention on this boring subject!
We all have differing opinions on stocks as with most things. It wouldn't be much fun if we agreed on everything and as long as the bull and bear case are fully argued that's fine by me. I hope Sporty66 is rewarded for his faith in the PAT management investing a lump at 14. If he's right he will be quids in and that's as it should be. I come from the school of hope for the best, fear the worst.
star786 is right i am a committed holder and while I wouldn't mind a lower sp I don't ever deliberately talk the stock down in the hope's of getting one.......as if what I say makes any difference! I might be over bearish and naturally suspicious especially when drilling, be it oil, gold or silver, but in the long run I want the Co to succeed and holders to be rewarded for their faith in backing the Company.
The countdown to pubs reopening (indoors) is now 24 days.....have a good wk/end all.

Another excellent week for cpo prices adding $33 on the wk to close at $1206. Ytd averages c.$1046 ($697) that's 50% up on last year. Even REA managed a c.2 gain on the week perhaps a bit of nosey buying ahead of results shortly. Volume was 107,926 on the week, buys outpacing sells by c.6:1. The KLPI runs down 6% ytd.
Incorrect valuefinder am invested and am holding. BURTOMJ, best ignore my opinion but if it makes you feel any better i'll start some super bullish posts. I just call it as I see it pricing in the chance of being disappointed.
Not minded to add atm. Until we get some conclusive drill news its best to keep ones ammo dry just in case there is a delay/bad news either of which will send the stock back to 5-7 in a flash. DarkEnergy is confident enough to buy £10,000 not sure if that's a top or his first purchase either way i hope his bet comes up trumps!
Volumes are much lower this week no chance of another 1,000,000+ trade volume and being a Friday the sp is likely to trade in the current 14-15 spread. Gold has moved to $1786 up $6 wtd and 6% down ytd. Morning all.
