The UK Govt's recent budget allocated an extra £1•9bn over the next 2 years to boost its munitions infrastructure. Sooner or later investors will catch on that some will be coming our way.... Hold tight.

I heard whispers MSi are on the acquisition trail.....for chrissakes I hope not! If there's one company on Aim that doesn't need to spend shareholders money it's MSi.

When boards decide to go down this route they have either, run out of ideas or brokers are commission hunting and rarely will the deal

give as much in earnings per share as what MSi gives away.

If its not earnings enhancing for MSi investors leave the f**k alone.

Zambeef has become one of those stocks that are full of bad news for investors while painting a picture at odds with nos. I dumped my small amount & added elsewhere preferring to run with winners rather than duds like Zam.

Much as I tried to wean my Co investor off she continues to have blood transfusions in the hope some new lifeblood will do the trick and there will be a damascean conversion in the shares.

Global defence spending is set to increase substantially around the world with strong growth predicted over the next decade.

Chemring jumped 9% on demand for its shares as order books surged 54% in the 6 months to April the strongest level for a decade. Chemring boss Michael Ord said the past 6 months were a 'period of heightened activity as the group adapted to changing customer spending priorities and is well positioned in the US and UK mrkts.

This bodes well for MSi which has been neglected by investors since the beginning of the year and has a good deal to catch up on. I cont to add.

carrying my money to an easy win at decent ante post odds in 1970. Since then a futher 14 have obliged.

Afternoon WOE as much as I'd like to be at the AGM, public transport that far North (where is Doncaster?) is out of the question from South London which is a world away from civilisation as we know it (I kid you not).

I will have to rely on you to keep me informed of latest 'chat' on the day if your attending the meeting which is so much more informative than the 'dry' nos. Are you oop that far North?

I added a few to my holdings this morning at 537 more than i wanted to pay due to my ham fisted mob hassles of getting logged on etc... Anyways i slightly reduced my overall avc which is fine by me.

Finally I'm in the process of compiling more data to expand MSi trading nos for holders to better see the overall picture. Should complete by next week.

Thanx to the useless US banking system I missed the jump from 446 to current. My only hope of adding further down is if the jobbers shake a few loose holders out at 530p this morning....fingers crossed on that!!

I'm at c.breakeven on my holding so the upside from here looks good to me (Navy gun orders etc) and as long as we don't have any impairment news to kibosh the share price I see them much higher by year end. Fingers crossed on that also!!

Markets are higher across Asia this morning as traders react positively to US debt ceiling crisis being signed into law and solid employment/jobs nos data. The Nsdq reached its best closing level in over a year and the 500 set a new 9 month high.

Japan extends gains of last week the Nikkei jumps nearly 2% (+580) by lunch hitting a 33 year high. Autos, Banks and construction all gained between 2% & 6% as stocks in HK, Shanghai, S.Korea,Taiwan and Pacifica followed Tokyo moves higher.

Crude oil is off opening highs of $78 as Saudi & OPEC+ agree to cut production by 1m & 1•4m bopd respectively hoping to boost prices which last saw $125 highs a year ago. Gold slips in early trade as worries surface one more rate hike could be on the cards to tamp down inflation pressures.

Morning all.

A better week for MSi holders was slightly spoilt by profit taking today. However a big jump in total trade vols of c.69,140 outpaced sells c.45,700 to 23,440 (1•95:1).

Shares gained 88p on a shortened week of 99 deals nearly double last weeks total which was encouraging considering the last few months.

However there's ways to go to even reach Jan 4 price of 660 let alone the ytd high of 745. Their has been no company news of note since 23/12/2012.

I'm afraid I cannot make a sensible reply to your post stargate as I don't understand squiggly line theories. I prefer to concentrate on the specifics of earnings nos, return on capital etc....and a stock selling at a low price relative to its long'term economic value.

For sure Bollinger bands work for some (i prefer the fizz) just as p/er nos work for me. Must say the only line I want to see is an ascending one......

Morning all.

I have registered in the strongest terms my views on the US Banks delays in transferring monies owed to me to my UK account. This has taken from the 10/5/23 and have been told it will be completed on the 2nd of June.

Since then I have been unable to trade any shares in MSi which have gone up from 446 to current 525p leaving me considerably out of pocket. I may get an acknowledgement but I'm not counting on any redress let alone an apology or some form of ex gratitude payment.

Suffice to say this is the end of my dealings with this bank and will use PayPal for all future transactions.

The only game in town ended with broad bipartisan support to raise the debt ceiling overcoming hardline opposition on both sides of the House.

Pretty much a shoe-in the Republican controlled House voted 314-117 to send the legislation to the Senate which must enact the measure before Mondays deadline when the US will officially run out of money.

The news came too late for mrkts which ended on a weak note closing with moderate losses but coming off days lows. Dow Futures price in no jubilation now the bill will provide another 2 years of relative calm before the next merry-go-round on debt talks slated for Jan 1st 2025.

Crude ($73) fell sharply as worries on fuel demand resurfaced on a stronger USD weighing on oil prices. Gold posted its first monthly loss of $48 hitting a low of $1943. The CME FedWatch Tool projects a 70% chance of a pause for rates at the June meeting.

Agree the Forecourts business could turnout a star turn down the road given the Defence division is expected to make the running this year with more contracts in the pipeline. We tend to forget this side of the business which has great potential following the ASDA news of them acquiring 350 petrol stations across the UK and investing £150m in food to go locations.

I think MSi is well placed to expand in all divisions and should see a material uplift in earnings across the company in the years ahead. Despite the poor sp performance so far I'm in no way down hearted.
