asda may soon change the 10% cheaper offer,
imo we are now in 240/320 range for this share this assuming results no worse or even slightly better than w/end reports.
holding up well after weekend news ,in sbry this morning busy seeing as before 9 ,all tills had queues ,ok only a few open had to go to self service ,got a printout saying I,d saved £7 compared to asda (didn't really believe that)but to quote Tesco every little helps.
From reports not anything unexpected .if we get 12p or thereabouts in my book its OK cutting costs surely can do the sp no harm ,anything below the recent low of 225 must be a steal .on!y wait until tomorrow .to see what the market thinks.
as I posted yesterday Justin king seemed quite positive in his interview with the telegraph ,saying he left sains in good shape and that Sainsbury were in far better shape to meet the future than Tesco ,big rise today ,I cant now see a bid at least from the qataries mainly because of the political situation ,but sains offer good quality products and have a loyal customer following because of it ,if the div is cut I now think no more than 25% so still offering a very healthy yield ,only time will tell but the shorters will have to close at sometime ,unless they know something we don't they must be getting edgy .
from what he says in telegraph today seems he feels sains in far better place than Tesco ,from my visits to both I have to agree .
they don't cut the div by more then 50% ,if they keep 50% of div then its deff hold for income ,I wonder where the shorters will get back in they cant all jumo in together or some will miss out big time ,I see one has increased their short so they must be hoping for sub £2 does anybody think they will go below £2 ? imo not unless the market goes below 5500 or there is something like a rights issue ,icant see it myself but the shorters know something I suppose ..
beatroot ,your right I,ve always wonderd that I thought they maybe the same product but from Germany.
last year total div 17.3p less say at worst a 50% cut if the share goes to£3 its still about 3%not too bad atall ,these supermarkets are in it to make money they are not going to commit hari kari ,by selling stuff at a loss...ok Tesco has big problems imo sains is in a much better place .
I feel this so caaled price war ,wiil soon be the norm and the suoermarkets will readjust ,they are in this to make money ,ok maybe a little less but still plenty ,as fpor the discounters I don't shop in them but seen the ads ,do they sell branded goods or lookalike as from the ads their products lok like the real thing with different names ,are the the same product but german ?,as for the pound shope I have purchased things there ,I bought a branded kitkt but it tasted strange and from memory it had like Arabic writing on it .
Where's the bottom ?I was going to buy more @ 220 (if I could raise some funds )I have now decided to see if they go sub 2 pound my two reasons are I feel getting even deeper in debt chasing my losses might keep me awake more at night ,but what really worries me are the shorters do they know something we don't on all known info the price is now cheap ,if something comes to light that these shifters knew before the rest of us I would love to see them prosecuted and sent to do some time where they couldn't spend their fortunes.
I don't see a lot of evidence of a price war ,ok they,ve all put the milk down ,but last visit to Tesco got some coffe half price but not a lot else ,asda still have warburtons at £1 (I think) a lot of talk but at the end of the day they,re not going to commit hari kari, at least I hope not while I still got shares in sbry ,sbry has a lot of loyal customers ,the shortesr are still at it but perhaps they know something we don't because on the face of it this mornings report was deff no worse than expected , I need to try and get some more cash to have another crack at 220 (if it gets there .
No worse IMO and div should be at least 50% most prob no worse than 25% cut imo
sbry now comparing only with asda ,everybody knows asda is the cheapest of the big four ,I was shopping in Tesco and got the feel they were not cutting prices much and imo less offers ,imo there has been some unofficial agreement ,to take the heat out of the price war ,to all of their benefit ,but of course not ours as shoppers ,though shareholders can rejoice.
Shopping in tesco today seems to me ,they,ve decided to ease up on the price war ,this is only the impression I got ,if so could mean others will not sell cheaper than they have to ,result higher profits all round soon .
imo sains are 3rd for quality ,joint !st mks and waitrose ,if sains can move nearer to marks in quality which I believe is the aim then we can still be fine even on slightly lower sales as yesterday report indicated ,sains has much more loyalty than tsco (not hard as Tesco loyalty almost zero),imo don't try too hard to compete on price with aldi ,go for quality.
Looks that way ,I,m a bit p off got myself 5k and went in twice today 275 and 264 s eems I was a bit too hasty still 3.30 by Christmas should see us OK.
went ex d today seems to have done bit better lately
