while i agree with the lady refusing to sell alcohol ,as your faith should always come before all else, but marks should let customers know which tills are restricted ,as i know some muslims dont believe in interest and will not accept credit cards only debit cards.
i was also in marks yesterday had a coffee and toastie with the wife all very nice ,but i felt young again and i'm well into my sixties ,most people in the place ,would be lucky to still be spending next year, marks has a big big problem the loyal ,and yes they are very loyal customers are all coming to the end of their spending days ,food apart the place needs to attract a younger group to survive .
OK the food is great ,but the rest is a dead wood company ,like most of their customers will be in a couple of years ,without the much hyped bid these can only go one way in the long term.
Thanks ,more or less what l thought,so I,m doing as you say just holding and hoping for 3pounds +
Thanks for the reply,so its not really to the small shareholder to purchase these bonds ,does it mean that there will be more shares if those nwho get the bonds convert them into shares ,all this stuff is a bit over my head
can somebody explain this bond offering,is it like a rights issue,it all seems very confusing to me,thanks..
Only the few reap the rewards and the Ordinary Joe's pay the price' all in it together
there's been alot of speculation regarding a t/o of bp.imo the price would be too high unless somebody was given the nod regarding th e outcome of the case ,but bg is a different ball game and is a prime candidate piles of assets not doing that well with them for various reasons so lets see which is for the chop first i kow where my money is.
i see they,ve put our energy bills up again,no dividend rises if they put our bills up above the inflation rate,a complete rip off of the hardworking family man,
telegraph went a bit cool on these yesterday ,they have always been very positive till now ,sold some this morning ,i still feel they are ripe for the takeover but on what time scale ,i've now raised my buyback price to 1150 and will not sell any more till at least 1350 got 1215 earlier so fair bit of funds if oppertunity comes.
this is still a very sound share imo,its by far my largest holding so although on the weak side at the mo not rushing to top up,some downgrades and outlook shaved a bit but this if things dont move in our direction will be a prize plum t/o target .the div although small is very safe and rising so its just sit tight with no worries on this one
the shares are still very weak, still just seen div in bank i feel i will not now top up until and if they go nearer the £11 mark as any more bad news could see them sub 10,as i've said along with many of you they are a great long term bet but us traders like a bit of in and out ,
i hold a fair amount of these ,i sold some @1251 recently but dont like to see them fall although as a long term bet thre are few better, the div is very safe (ok not that high)but should continue (barring a disaster)to rise for the foreseeable,i will not though buy more till and if they go to the 1150ish level .
Without a bid these IMO are way too high' yes their food is great but there is only so far you can go with that and others are closing the gap 'as for there clothes well most of their customers have seen better days (like myself)and we,re a dwindling bunch' so without the much talked about bid the only way for these is like their customers down.
a new bidder will very soon emerge ,cvc did not want to play their too soon, looking now for £10/£11 .
Wife says she will never enter primark again ,read article in telegraph ,they are responsible for a great deal of suffering .
Broker targets do they have a time scale? Or is it open ended ,yes your correct it does look as though things are looking up bid or no bid .IMO the other bidder or two will only play their hand late I,m not to clear on t/o rules but I'm sure any possible bidder is being well advised to their best advantage.
Yes 10 pounds is looking very possible,CVC are going to have to go to around at least that mark if we do get a battle on our hands ,I must admit I was not expecting the statement so soon and trying to be greedy shorted a few at 809 hoping to buy back on the drift still no major damage done got them back @ 815 I,m just waiting now to cash out for a nice profit keeping my hands off the buttons gl.
Seems we,re now in play feel quite a bit further to go looking now to above 950,that said had to close short position first thing today with small loss ,(only recently joined the spread bettors),IMO we will see at least one more bidder emerge ,but that will not before a while yet I believe ..
If we only get a single bidder which I believe is unlikely as I do believe a number of the major betting company's have had a good look at betfair ,then 840/890 one bidder but my money is on at least one other company not wanting bet fair getting away then it could go to near 10 pounds .
