So with Benitz's 16-week "certainty" coming to a close very shortly many are relying on yet another speculative milestone to pass (the other 5 were false prophets). The narrative goes that this is because this deal is really complex and hammering out the finer details has taken longer than the esteemed CEO has expected (is that hubris or naivety?).

So whilst many rely on the "certainly by the end of Q1 2023" wording from the ever-reliable and overly confident Benitz in the 29 November 2022 RNS, what is often overlooked is the forward-looking statement which I share here for those who don't read further than the hype:

pmsl… you’re already sitting on a massive loss. Even if a deal is struck which is looking distinctly unlikely with each passing day then how do you have any confidence you’ll make any money on it? You do know that everyone will be cashing out on that day too don’t you? And with your massive holding (LOL) that leaves you rather over exposed/back of the queue.

Seems that the faithful are playing the time extension tune. These big deal take time LOL. But one has to question the credibility of Benitz and his statements. However much some are willing to let this rumble on to keep the dream alive one has to conclude that the final chapter does not sound like it will read well.

JS, please believe me when I say that I don't take any pleasure in this but I am genuinely concerned by what the next couple of weeks holds for the SP. You don't announce "certain progress" at the end of November and then hold off until the end of a 16-week period to share the good news!

It helps the gamblers to suggest this is all riding on the budget statement as it buys a few more days to keep the dream alive and allows them a bit longer to hedge their bets.
