Regulator - I imagine there are many nationalities involved in development the crux of the matter is where are they manufacturing/distributing presumably, but thanks for that.

Why ?

The best vaccine AstraZeneca Oxford is not being rolled out as it is not approved.
Pfizer (US - EU not involved) is approved ( by UK first and Us a few days ago.
Moderna (US - EU not involved) is about to be approved by the US.
No other vaccines approved yet. I am very much keeping up I'm 66 and Extremely Clinically Vulnerable.

but we need EUA approval until 31/12 to use the vaccine unless we ask the EU to let MHRA approve the use of the vaccine I believe ? If I'm wrong I will be pleased to know its just home grown inefficiency and not political expediency stopping us.

I keep wondering what the hold p in approval is. Pfizer and Moderna were behind AZ in creating their vaccines and submitted data around the same time but seem to be ahead in getting approvals.
A theory that occurs to me, after a lot of thought, is that this is in some way tied to Brexit and a reluctance by HMG to ask EU permission for emergency authority to proceed ?
After 31/12 MHRA can authorise without needing to consult anybody else. Anybody think this theory holds water ? Any thoughts ?

II have to say, if it correct, it’s appalling that politics MAY be more important than 500 deaths a day.

Thanks pretty much the same here, but I'm in as deep as I can afford and just having a smidgeon of self doubt. Not selling, cheesed off with waiting - especially for the MHRA, but holding until the tide ( logically ) turns in the face of ever increasing demand, surely it must.

Like many I hold stocks in several Covid related stocks.
Like many others I thought the arrival of the vaccine/s would be a positive ( from a health perspective it obviously is ) but also in terms of the various stocks vaccines are only a small part of the story.
Yet day after day since 09/11 all I see in the stocks I hold is red. I am down on some by 50% and only up, very marginally, on one or two.
Am I missing something ? Why did everything fall of the cliff because there is an American vaccine, not easy to produce, store or move and in limited supply ? Genuinely just don't get it.
Why is it taking so long to get MHRA approval for the AstraZeneca vaccine ?
Why don't people, the market, see the need for tests and masks ?
A solid 5 weeks of ever falling prices just seems completely counterintuitive - yet here we are.
